Full job description

We are seeking a professional and friendly Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and insurance representatives.

In this role, you will handle inbound and outbound calls, assist with patient inquiries, communicate with insurance providers, and provide administrative support to ensure a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable speaking with patients and insurance companies throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Communication
  • Answer incoming calls from patients regarding appointments, services, and general inquiries
  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to patients
  • Route calls and messages to the appropriate staff members when necessary
  • Follow up with patients as directed
  • Handle approximately 20–40 inbound and outbound patient and insurance-related calls per day

Insurance Communication

  • Handle calls from insurance companies regarding patients
  • Document insurance-related inquiries and updates
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team member when necessary

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate call logs and documentation
  • Update patient information in company systems as needed
  • Assist with appointment-related communications
  • Support daily administrative tasks and office operations

QualificationsRequired

  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong customer service and phone-handling skills
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Virtual Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Call Center Agent
  • Experience working with healthcare providers, medical offices, or insurance companies
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare administration

  • Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro preferred
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Headset with noise-canceling microphone
