Qualification Standards:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Major in Filipino or equivalent.
  • Licensed Professional Teacher (LET Passer) is an advantage.
  • Relevant seminars/trainings in K–12 curriculum, 21st-century teaching, or language instruction preferred.
  • Possession of a TESDA National Certificate (e.g., NC II in relevant fields) is an advantage.
  • At least 1–2 years of teaching experience in high school, preferably in the SHS strand.
  • Experience in implementing standards-based assessment and performance tasks in Filipino.
  • Mastery of Filipino grammar, literature, writing, and oral communication.
  • Effective classroom management and instructional strategies.
  • Familiarity with the SHS curriculum and DepEd guidelines.
  • Proficiency in integrating ICT tools in teaching and learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill.
  • Creativity in promoting Filipino culture and heritage.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and lifelong learning.
  • Campus journalism skills and mentoring student journalists, are a strong advantage.
  • Ability to mentor students in speech, writing, and performance-based outputs.
  • Fresh graduates with strong business or education backgrounds may also be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver interactive, meaningful, and culturally relevant Filipino lessons aligned with the SHS curriculum and DepEd standards.
  • Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, multimedia presentations, and assessment tools suitable to the learners’ levels and needs.
  • Regularly monitor and assess students’ academic progress, ensuring accurate and updated records of performance.
  • Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students requiring remediation or enrichment.
  • Actively participate in subject area meetings, school-wide seminars, in-service training, and other professional development activities.
  • Serve as a class adviser or moderator, if designated.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers on interdisciplinary and co-curricular initiatives.
  • Promote Filipino language, literature, and culture in classroom and school activities.
  • Assist in hosting and facilitating school programs, and may serve as Master of Ceremonies (Emcee) during Filipino-themed events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Cluster Coordinator or School Principal.
