Full job description
Qualification Standards:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Human Kinetics, or related field.
- With education units if undergraduate degree is non-education.
- Licensed Professional Teacher (LET Passer) is an advantage.
- First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from accredited organizations (e.g., Philippine Red Cross, DOH, or equivalent) preferred.
- Coaching certification in at least one sport (e.g., PSC, DepEd, NSA, or accredited sports body) preferred.
- Participation in seminars or training on Physical Education, sports officiating, health education, and athletic program management is an advantage.
- At least 1–2 years of experience teaching Physical Education or coaching school-based sports teams in Senior High School.
- Ability to handle multiple subjects (PE and Life and Career Skills)
- Experience in organizing school sports events or athletic programs.
- Mastery of Physical Education concepts, health principles, and sports science applicable to SHS students.
- Proficiency in various sports and fitness disciplines (team and individual events).
- Knowledgeable in first aid, CPR, and injury management.
- Strong classroom and field management skills.
- Effective communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor student-athletes toward skill improvement and character development.
- Proficiency in using educational technology (e.g., Google Workspace, video analysis tools, fitness tracking apps).
- Organizational and event management skills for sports festivals and tournaments.
- Commitment to promoting health, fitness, discipline, and sports excellence among students.
- Fresh graduates with strong sports and coaching background may also be considered.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and skill-based Physical Education lessons that promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and lifelong wellness.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment tools in alignment with the SHS curriculum and DepEd standards for Physical Education and Health.
- Conduct physical fitness tests, performance evaluations, and health assessments to monitor student progress.
- Ensure safety during physical activities by enforcing proper warm-up, cool-down, and injury prevention techniques.
- Provide immediate first aid and emergency response when accidents or injuries occur during PE classes, training sessions, or events.
- Coach or assist in training school sports teams (e.g., basketball, volleyball, athletics, swimming, badminton, etc.), preparing them for competitions and tournaments.
- Organize and facilitate sports festivals, intramurals, fitness campaigns, or other co-curricular athletic activities.
- Foster values of discipline, respect, teamwork, and fair play in all sports and physical activities.
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments for interdisciplinary wellness and physical fitness programs.
- Maintain and inventory sports equipment and facilities, ensuring safety and proper use.
- Participate in faculty meetings, seminars, training programs, and professional development related to sports science, health education, and pedagogy.
- Serve as a class adviser or moderator, if assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cluster Coordinator or School Principal.
