Job Summary:
The Application & Database Support Officer is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting business applications and database environments to ensure optimal system functionality and performance. The role works closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and IT teams in resolving technical issues, supporting system enhancements, and ensuring data accuracy, security, and availability.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide day-to-day support for business applications and database systems, ensuring system availability and optimal performance.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, system errors, and database-related concerns in a timely manner.
- Perform routine database maintenance, monitoring, backups, and data integrity checks.
- Support system implementation, enhancements, upgrades, testing, and deployment activities.
- Investigate and resolve incidents related to application functionality, integrations, and database performance.
- Coordinate with vendors, developers, and internal users regarding technical concerns and system requirements.
- Generate reports, extract data, and assist business units with system-related requests.
- Ensure proper documentation of system issues, resolutions, configurations, and technical procedures.
- Assist in managing user access, system configurations, and application security settings.
- Support data migration, system integration, and database optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, data privacy, information security, and business continuity standards.
- Participate in system testing, UAT support, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties and special projects assigned by management.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or any related course.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in Application Support, Database Administration, Systems Support, or IT Operations.
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience in application troubleshooting, database queries, and technical support.
- Familiarity with SQL scripting, database maintenance, and system monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding of system integration, APIs, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is an advantage.
