The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Financial Controller to lead the financial function of our growing organisation. This is a senior leadership role responsible for financial governance, performance reporting, compliance, and strategic financial oversight.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in driving financial clarity, strengthening internal controls, and providing strategic insights that support business growth and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for a CPA-qualified finance professional who combines technical expertise with strong commercial acumen and leadership capability.

The role is office-based (onsite)

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Performance

• Full ownership of the company’s P&L, including analysis, reporting, and performance insights
• Preparation and review of monthly management reports and statutory financial statements
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
• Deliver strategic financial analysis to support executive decision-making

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and tax regulations
• Oversee BAS preparation and lodgements
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance frameworks
• Lead internal audit processes and risk management initiatives
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies

Operational Finance Management

• Oversee payroll review and compliance
• Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Lead cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Identify financial risks and implement process improvements

Team Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and oversight to the bookkeeping and accounts team
• Drive accountability, performance standards, and continuous improvement within the finance function

About You

You are a proactive and detail-driven accounting professional who combines strong technical capability with a commercial mindset.

You will bring:

• CPA qualified (mandatory)
• 8–10+ years’ progressive experience in senior accounting or finance leadership roles
• Demonstrated experience managing full financial operations, internal controls, compliance, and risk frameworks
• Strong working knowledge of BAS and Australian tax requirements
• Proven experience leading or supervising finance teams
• High level of analytical capability with a strong commercial mindset
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership
• Experience in multi-entity or diversified business structures is highly regarded
• With Xero background.
