good hard work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
come in around midnight and leave around 8-9 am. Had to read code on boxes to put it 1 on the correct truck and 2 to put it in the correct place on that truck. learned logistic functions . The hardest part was having to stay up all night and go to school during the day.

Decent

Good people tough job. good over time and decent pay, good for you if you are okay with super physical work. Other than that there's not much to the job. A lot of great people to work with that make it easier.

It’s doable

When you work here at this ups facility in Orlando fl. This job you have to load trailers with very heavy boxes. The harder you work the more they will work you. They are nice people and let you get away with a lot because of how hard the job can be mentally and physically for your body. Pay is horrible expectation for your pay should be around 300 a week. Benefits are like the military it’s free for health dental vision. Look at it like a gym membership with free health insurance

no interview job

easy job to get because you can schedule your first day without ever interviewing hard work is rewarded with more hard work, pay is horrible, benefits are amazing if you're willing to wait 9 months

Great Place to work

Pretty straight forward and easy place to work just wish there was more hours for the part time people as they get 4-5 hour in peak season which is around December but 2-3 hours the rest

Best job ever

The best job I’ve ever had. It was only part time. It does take a while to get to full time. But easy to move up. I was offered to a part time supervisor a few times. But being an hourly person I was protected if my check was ever messed up because of the union. It is a physically demanding job. I was well respected. I was pregnant and still doing this. But when I couldn’t physically do the heavy lifting any more they made the reasonable accommodations quickly. If anyone needed help I was the go to girl. They have amazing benefits. Free health insurance for you and your dependents in my position. And the insurance is amazing! My superiors understood when something happened. As long as there was communication they were very reasonable.

Pros

Everything about this job.

Good Environment but management sucks

I worked the ramp, I had a great crew of people and a fantastic supervisor for most of my time. The hours were always guaranteed so I was always getting my minimum hours. Pay was good.

Good Job During Peak Season

Working for UPS is a pretty good gig during the year if you need insurance or if you have another job, however during peak season it is awesome and can earn you serious money if you put in the work.

Heavy lifting work

The pay is okay, but it is not an easy job as it requires lots of heavy lifting. The work time is also not guaranteed as there can be slow days depending ok the season

Very physical job

Loading trucks is no joke. Years ago i was hired during peak holiday season and it was crazy fast paced bust *$ work scanning and loading packages and giant tires that are coming at you into a trailer all while meeting their 472 safety standards and being monitored constantly. They are like the FBI interviewing you if you get hurt. There are no breaks during those 5 hours of loading unless a package jam shuts down the conveyor belt system. Strange power dynamics within the management. If this is your only job and you are reasonably young, this might be a great part time job for you with opportunity for advancement. As a mother of small children with a full time job in addition to working for UPS, it proved to be more than I could handle.

Very hard at the beginning but get better with time

Minus the short breaks (nearly 10minutes each) It’s a very physical job. I wasn’t used to keep standing for that long. The first days i wanted to run away. But it’s get easier with time. You’ll get used to it.

Pros

Free Water ! No free lunch

Cons

Very short breaks !!!

Alright

They don’t give enough hours but it’s a good environment aside from a few separatist. There needs to be more opportunity for growth and management literally pretends they have no clue how much anyone makes also they will slaughter your hours so beware of that

Painful

Super easy to get injured at this job. Moving lots of boxes around with not a lot of space, I come home to find several bruises on my legs, hands, and sometimes face. The pace is really quick and can get really stressful. Poor communication, it's hard to get in contact with HR or supervisors above your own direct supervisor.

Pros

Sometimes they brought us in food, free healthcare

Cons

short breaks, healthcare only after 9 months

great for the pay and benefits

If they keep the private shuttle to and from seattle with the paid travel time I'm gonna be happy cause that and the overtime pay makes this job worth keeping and doing well with pride
