It was productive and fulfilling.
Captain Airbus A320 (Former Employee) - Pasay - October 28, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? Philippine Airlines is a very professional company with very competent people working together. The management is top notch and aims to make the airline better each year. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? During COVID the company had to let go of many employees and I got concerned that I might be in the list, luckily I wasnt. The normal job of a pilot has stress built in to the duties since lives of people are at stake in every flight we execute and the highest standards of safety have to practiced. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The environment is very professional but very friendly. People do their jobs to their highest standards but also being people centric. What is a typical day like for you at the company? I have to report for duty early to prepare for the flight then go to the airport and prepare the plane for flight and brief the cabin crew. Then we follow SOPs to execute the flight as safe as possible but observing on time performance. We does this again at the arrival airport to return back to the origin airport.

Fun Workplace
Flight Attendant (Current Employee) - Pasay City - December 8, 2023
i love it here, it's just that the company needs to upgrade because there are a lot of issues. i have always read about the reviews on their website that customers said it was the worse airline they have traveled on. as an employee it is embarrassing.

There is always something new to learn in Philippine Airlines
Flight Attendant/Flight Purser (Former Employee) - Pasay - October 19, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Being able to explore new places, meet new people and discover different cultures while working. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? In my thirty years in PAL, the primary problem for us is scheduling. This has been the problem then, until now. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Philippine Airlines is like a second home, a second family. There is great camaraderie and teamwork among the crew. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Greeting friends and passengers, updating on safety and service standards. Preparing the aircraft for our flight

Fun Culture but low pay
Pilot (Current Employee) - Manila Philippines - October 8, 2023
throughly love Pl and the job I do. I believe it is one of the best jobs I have ever had! The "family culture" is something I will always remember. But the Pay and benefits they treat you is the worst. They will try get the best of you as much as possible because you don’t have a union.

Flight Dispatcher (Former Employee) - Pasay - July 26, 2023
Overall, my experience at the company was incredibly positive. It was a fun and enjoyable environment, which made me feel motivated and productive. The presence of challenges allowed for personal growth, but the best part was the supportive colleagues who were always willing to lend a helping hand. Teamwork was a strong aspect of the company culture, creating a collaborative atmosphere that contributed to the overall success of projects and tasks.

good compensation, fun environment, caring for employees
cabin crew (Former Employee) - manila, PH - July 23, 2023
health and travel benefits are really good ate Philippine Airlines. I also like that they care so much about their crew, they ensure that the crew were given enough time to get a good rest before taking a flight.

Secondary PAL
Safety Engineer (Former Employee) - National Capital Region - April 24, 2023
Good to get experience. My stay was short and sweet but I manage to get ahead because people there stayed stagnant for failing to improve their skills and knowledge. I didn't wait for the company to offer me training, rather I took courses from my own effort that gave me additional competence.
Pros
Easy to get ahead if you invest in personal skills development
Cons
Too many factions and nepotism

PAL is a company that exploits its workers
Flight Operations Employee (Former Employee) - Manila - April 7, 2023
Has a negative and a crab mentality culture. Has a weak training culture. They are only good in projecting to management and to the public that they are improving the standards of the company but what happens inside the company is the complete opposite. They don’t take care of their employees and they take advantage of them most of the time. Treatment, benefits and compensation is different from the group that is protected by the Union as compared to the group that is not part of the Union. Military Culture is the root cause on the flight operations side on why employees are stifled and hampered to grow and develop their abilities and talents. Seniority dictates the dynamics of the behavior of its employees. They terrorize their employees during training and during work hours.
Pros
Travel and see the world
Cons
Exploitative working environment

Job like no other.
Flight Attendant (Current Employee) - Parañaque City - March 20, 2023
Great job for singles and for those who just started their career. Pros: competitive salary, best flight destinations (PH based) and benefits, bigger allowances, fun work teams (if you’re lucky), with strong union. Cons: seniority, outdated systems in back office, outdated and old building, parking is a major&daily problem of crew, medical processes for sick leaves are a big hassle, having to apologize for the aircraft’s problems, management is not pro-crew, lacking manpower/minimum crew manning in flights (lead to shortchanging paxs), ground staff mishandlings (not strict with 7kg baggage), false marketing (different planes with different entertainment/seats in reality), opening new routes but aircrafts are still having cabin problems. Priorities are in question. Holidays/important events are missed, time with the family is short, fleeting time. Being a cabin crew is good for starters, good for your bank accounts…in exchange for your time and mental heath (sometimes). You can’t have it all they say, but I hope they really listen to the crew’s voice & concerns and take action. Still Grateful for PAL despite the cons.

Work experience is good but the comoany is just using their personnel
Senior Customer Service Agent (Former Employee) - Pasay City - March 7, 2023
I have worked here for 15 years. The problem with this company is the management. They’d prefer to increase earnings by taking away the regular employees and hiring them back as as sub-contract less benefits. I would rather not talk about our separation pay, you might pity us.
Pros
Great experience in customer service
Cons
Not properly compensated by the company

Great benefits, excellent pay (for a PH based FA), and work-life balance!
International Flight Attendant (Former Employee) - Pasay City, Philippines - February 24, 2023
Excellent pay for a Philippine-based employee. Our salary is like 3-5 times of employees in the Philippines, with routine work. It has its hazards like working with different time zones, exposure to UV rays since we fly a lot (The farther you go from the Earth's surface, the fewer molecules of gas there are per volume of space. Thinner air thus means fewer molecules to deflect incoming cosmic rays – radiation from outer space. With less atmospheric shielding, there is more exposure to radiation, Googled it, for your convenience, lol) - it's a good idea to lather on the SPF. But to sum up all the cons, the pros are REALLY good. You have that security of money, happy workmates, and environment. And travelling the world at the same time! Personally, I was happy working for PAL as an international flight attendant from 2015 to 2022. Resigned because I am now a registered nurse in the US. Working for PAL are my happy years!
Pros
Travel benefits, salary, work-life balance, healthcare
Cons
Disrupted sleeping pattern (but not complaining) you have a lot of sleep on your layovers, and it's paid! Lol.
