High turnover of nurses and managers at Nurseline

24/7 nurse advice line is more a line to transfer misdirected calls to customer service or listen to complaints. In my 3 years there, I had 3 different managers. If the managers' team was not productive enough (with metrics), they were let go. High expectations for number of calls expected to take (back-to-back). Metric based position, pushing case management or other services to help UHG's bottom line. Hard to get off of working at least one weekend day a week (same schedule every week), or off of evening shift. Stressful, negative experience. Benefits and time off ok, pay ok, work from home biggest benefit.

Great company

Great place to work. Good pay and good management. Easy to get time off. Not micromananged. Co-workers were wonderful. Everyone is very helpful. Training wasn’t great, but once on the job there was lots of help

Horrible place do not work here

Go elsewhere. They will talk up company and team, once here you find out truth. Hire you FT but don't give you more than 30 hours but charge your benefits based on that FT pay. Different rules for different people. Favoritism, nepotism run rampant. Management is clueless and all they do is "manage" to keep thier cushy work from home jobs. Noone has more than an associate degree in nursing and it shows! United Healthcare should be ashamed of themselves. Not patient oriented or focused. Try to force you as a nurse to see patients without orders and tell you it's okay that the order is totally incomplete without an ordering doctor name or dose just do it. Pharmacy is nasty to patients and nurses. Horrible Horrible Horrible place. Run away as fast as you can you have been warned!




Lie about hours days time benefit costs, People are allowed to speak nasty to you and completely disrespect you.

I love my job, but the pay is very low compared to other jobs in this area. My manager is wonderful. There is a lot of flexibility in the work. The hours are hit or miss. Sometimes you might not work for two weeks.

know what to expect

The team is cohesive, and you know what to expect. We work well together and you know what to expect. I was able to go to school finish while carrying a full-time load.

Work with great staff who always put the patient first.

The culture has been going downhill for the last 3-4 years as management has tried to cut corners and micromanage staff. Hopefully it will get back to what it used to be now that Optum in onboard.

Productive and Fun Workplace

As a Covid Tester for Film and TV productions, working with Optum feels safe and very rewarding. The compensation for being on the front lines of the pandemic is very generous, and working with high profile clients is often very exciting.

Miscommunication and Mismanagement between staff and higher ups

All show for clients and no consideration for staff

Management promises too much to clients without really thinking about the capacity and the availability of staff members. The systems are not designed to support the workload expected. As a result of poor forethought and poor process implementation, there are often weekly changes required resulting in a great deal of confusion. Upper management expected staff to increase the workload by double or triple without replacing FTE for those who quit or without adding any FTE for over a year or more. Staff is stretched to the extreme without compensation, overtime, raises or promotions. The focus was on metrics, volume of cases, audits, and the percentage of time staff actually spends on their computers. Compensation is very low for the amount of work assigned and was based solely on end of year and monthly metric numbers. Management is micromanaging and the nursing staff does not have the ability to make independent decisions. Vacation benefits are provided although maxed out at a certain amount of years worked. In order to take PTO there is a complex process that must be strictly adhered to which leads staff to take less PTO.

Good ole boys club

If you’re a man or work in a male dominated (95% male) department, you will enjoy company perks such as free half day off on the day before a holiday, frequent bonuses, raises and bonus at review time. You will also enjoy a light work load most of your days, very flexible schedule and ability to take a day off last minute. You will enjoy paid company lunches out at local restaurants.

Overall good experience

Management changes need to occur to promote and improve the culture. The practice of inclusion would be advisable. Separation of power is the norm on any given day. Our opinions don’t matter and never considered.

DaVita is a dialysis factory line and patients are the products being processed.

Management is run by people who have no idea about healthcare. Most times, former managers at Retail companies are placed to be in charge of clinics. These managers don't even know what they are doing and have zero ideas about healthcare or patients' lives. DaVita is one of the worst places anyone who cares about being a nurse and keeping their license can work. You are employed as a nurse in California and offered $34 an hour. That is an obvious low-ball. And then you are thrown out to the floor to work while managing anywhere between 8 to 24 patients without any help. Clinics are always short-staffed and you feel like you are working in a meat factory instead of in a clinic. It is all about money to management. It is all about filling the dialysis chairs with bodies. Nurses are overworked and can't even do assessments on patients because of how overworked and short-staffed the clinics are. The charting software is in MS-DOS format which was last used in the 80s. DaVita does not value nurses and uses them only for their licenses because clinics can't treat patients without any nurse present. Nurses are supposed to assess patients, coordinate treatments, administer medication, reassess, plan the care, teach, and provide excellent and quality patient care. As a nurse, you are unable to do any of the aforementioned things because you hardly have any time and are running around to fill chairs with bodies. When working for DaVita as a nurse, you become less of a nurse and more of a glorified epogen pusher. If you value your license, please run away. There is always -

Over worked

They work you to death!! 60 plus hours a week, Management has their favorites who have been there for years and have no life outside of work , policy and procedure is constantly broken by staff looking for shortcuts


Pay, that’s about all


18 hour days, terrible insurance benefits, push new employees out on their own to quick which is dangerous, nurses are tired and put their RN license on the line from being expected to work overtime

The worst office to work at, would not recommend working at davita medical group Kissimmee, not real patient care, just worried about numbers and admissions, HORRIBLE management!


No weekends, paid holidays, hour lunches


Poor pay, horrible management, benefits are expensive, disorganized, I could go on and on

Higher ups get paid well, others not so much

Very high stress job with small salary increases. The management showcases videos telling everyone how well the company is doing financially and the higher ups make a LOT of money, others not so much and there is very little room for advancement. There is a high turnover rate and those who have been loyal are not rewarded that much. They are changing a little bit however but how far that goes is a mystery. The worklace states they are supportive but as with most companies it is mostly just talk.
