Decent place to work
Industrial Mechanic (Former Employee) - Valley, NE - April 25, 2022
I dont have anything bad to say about the place. Some jobs suck worse than others, but if you get your stuff done, they generally don't hassle people.
Pros
Flexibility and relocation opportunities
Cons
Not the best raise structure.

Decent job, but not something you want long term
Production Worker (Current Employee) - Saginaw, MI - April 16, 2022
Management does not like to address problematic team members so much that they encourage you to verbally have it out and settle it that way rather than following policy and procedure with filing the proper paper work and or written statements and issuing appropriate write ups. Working in the weather conditions all year round gets old pretty fast (either extremely cold or hot), it’s a good part time job to have if you’re working towards a degree or something bigger. But not something to retire from.

Keeps me busy and pays well
Shipping and Receiving (Current Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - April 1, 2022
Everyone who has complained about this position must have zero work ethic. I only see hard working people advance at this company. With that being said here is to the years ahead spent with Midwest Manufacturing.

A Good Place to Start
Software Developer (Former Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - March 17, 2022
This a good place for you to get entry level experience and fluff your resume. Overall, the management is either way too pushy or fully clocked out. It's obvious that even the managers don't want to work there. The employees are nice and helpful, but most of the work is tedious and mind numbing. The flexible schedule is super nice but the benefits are laughable. I wasn't even on the healthcare there because it was so bad. Like I said, it's a good place to start and they do show you how to do a diverse selection of things. You learn a lot if this is your first industry job. But don't plan on making this your career unless you want to hate your life.

General Laborer (Former Employee) - Marshalltown, IA - March 15, 2022
i worked there for 4 years with no opportunity to advance and when i told my boss i wanted to he laughed in my face. given i showed up late sometimes but i started doing better in that area and still bothing. also the management is all over the place and they hire new managers from outside the company instead of promoting inside and the guys have no clue how to read a tape measure

Could be worse
Quality Control (Former Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - February 28, 2022
Worked for 5-6 years in MM Treating plant both part and full time. There were two types of employees: lifers who wish they had left, and a revolving door of young people. Nobody was ever very happy; management tended to be hired from fresh college graduates and would act superior to employees who had been working their for years and new what was going on. Raises and advancement opportunity non-existent; Menards/MM corporate culture treats employees as disposable. Flexibility was nice and the pay was ok when I was part time, but it was not a career unless you were management or some type of skilled employee.

To much to write
Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) - Terre Haute, IN - February 25, 2022
The management personnel are childish at times but rude and two face all the time. The put too much on each person and make it a very very stressful work day every day. Safety is ignored a lot to get max productivity. Dusty work environment and definitely not good for your well being.

Don't make a career out of it
Product Specialist (Former Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - February 24, 2022
Managers changed about every two years. Job continually had more and more added. Started with one stressful task with long hours. And ended up working the job of about four people. Management is out if touch and too busy hob nabbing with each other to care about anything else.

Great Benefits and work place
Truss Builder (Former Employee) - Iron Ridge, WI - February 15, 2022
It’s is hard work and you must always be aware of your surroundings. But other wise this is a great work place. There is clear communication on what needs to be done each day and the goals that we are looking to meet.

Productive and make quality products
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - February 2, 2022
Great place to work. Rewarding job and are paid well. Fast growing company continuously looking to improve processes. Higher up management is leading the rest of the company in the right direction.

Opportunity to move up in company, but little of no compensation increase to do so.
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - January 30, 2022
It is an easy company to move up in, but they increase your compensation very minimally to do so. Raises for moving up the management ladder is only 1$. They often force you to move while accepting promotions, but don't even pay for your full move. Good job out of college, but not a career by any stretch of the imagination. I do not recommend going into their management program.
Pros
Ability to move up, casual workplace and attire
Cons
Compensation, long hard hours, unsafe environment, micromanaging, dirty

If you can find work elsewhere, don't work here
General Plant Controller - Countertops Plants and Prehung Door Plants (Former Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - January 13, 2022
Employees are just a drop in a bucket and expendable for any reason. Hard work is not rewarded. All compensation is paid based on a pay scale. You cannot get raises above the pay scale no matter how productive you are. If you have unlimited time and are marginally talented, this is the place for you. If you are talented, just about any other employer is better.
Pros
Same pay as everyone else even if you aren't good at your job.
Cons
Poor pay, poor job-life balance

Bonus heavy
Assistant Plant Manager (Current Employee) - Saginaw, MI - October 18, 2021
Company is relatively good to work for but as a manager much of your yearly earnings are through bonuses. All managers are paid an hourly rate that is pretty low. Once you get a few years in then nearly 20% of your annual comes from bonuses alone so what you make each year is always a question mark.
Pros
Freedome to manage your shift/department in a way that you see necessary.
Cons
Far to bonus heavy.

Low pay no work life balance
Management Trainee (Former Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - August 24, 2021
The people that work for this company don’t have any sort of work life balance because of they do they won’t last long. Pay is low and management does not listen to workers whatsoever.
Cons
Punching out to use the restroom

Sad garbage
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Plano, IL - August 5, 2021
This place is run by kid managers they don't have a clue on what's going on running out of work material daily holidays You have to work or you work a Saturday or Sunday to just get that day off makes no sense. The worst thing is the break system you have to punch out to use the bathroom or go into the break room minutes late can get you fire. This place is just trash you'll won't make it through a week here alway hiring cause no one wants to work

Team Environment
General Labor (Current Employee) - Eau Claire, WI - August 3, 2021
Midwest Manufacturing is a family owned company and really gives off the family feel. MM really encourages Team Members to promote from within with many advancement opportunities. Management is flexible and willing to work with Team Members’ schedules while enrolled in school. Would recommend working here to anyone.
Pros
Advancement, pay, flexible scheduling
