I have worked as a freelancer for years and I'm still continuing my education. It's rare for companies to give chances to those without extensive backgrounds and skills. But HOPLA gave me a chance to interview and landed a good role inside. They provide constant support and guidance to all their team members.

Worst management

Administrative Associate (Former Employee) - Remote - September 29, 2023

Everything is not explained CLEARLY, and it has been the WORST management I've ever encountered in my entire working years. You're being micromanaged everyday with multiple time trackers.

Multiple time trackers, micromanaged, poor communication, management will just ignore all your inquiries and problems.

Micromanagement Issues

Account Executive (Former Employee) - Remote - July 14, 2022

I'm thankful for the opportunity but the sad thing was, that there was no room for promotion, bonuses nor increases. They're using 2 timers and it's exhausting to switch from one task to another - one for the client and one for HOPLA. I felt like a robot and evey minute was tracked. Timers take screenshots too.

In my 6 years of being employed, this has been the first time that I'm HAPPY with my work life.

For the past six years that I have been working, I have not been able to find that work-life balance that people are seeking in their job. After working for corporate companies, I took the leap of faith to apply for a home-based job even though I didn't have much experience with this kind of industry. I'm so glad that I did and I'm never turning back. This is the happiest that I've been throughout my career and Hopla has made me feel that my work matters no matter how minor my tasks may be. I'm happy to be part of this family.

HOPLA Rewards Excellence

Operations Manager (Current Employee) - Philippines - January 19, 2021

Unlike most companies wherein you'll slave years and years in order to get a substantial promotion and pay raise, you can realistically achieve this in less than a year. I've personally seen people get promoted and get a pay raise as much as 10% within the first 4-5 months in the company. As long as you impress the client with your skills, tenacity and positive attitude, it is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Pros

Work from Home, no commute, you can save so much in terms of allowance and transporation cost.

Cons

High Expectations, though that's pretty standard in any industry

I don't have experience on working online but Hopla gave me the opportunity to learn and took the chance to believe in me and gave me the job. I admit i had my own fair share of hardship and the thing I appreciate most is that they made an effort to reach out to me and helped me get over it.

Perfect company for those who want to expand their careers remotely !

As a new comer in this company, I have already seen the lenient working culture where they promote employees taking decisions and not being micromanaged. Colleagues are generous in sharing their ideas and they give high amount of social support. They also provide good training programs and necessary tools to ensure that all their employee are on it's most productive state

Pros

Working at your own convience (no hassle in commuting and waking up early), Great learnings, Collegues are approachable even if you're working remotely

Cons

Remote jobs are not meant for everyone

Great for those wanting to work at home

Great for people who want to work in the comforts of their home. Working at Hopla so far has been great and rewarding. People are nice and the onboarding process is great. Communication with management is transparent and accessible.

Pros

Being able to work and not worry about commuting or spending time to get ready for work.

Cons

work at home is not for everyone.

I'm working at HOPLA for the past 4 years. The team is great and I've made a lot of friends throughout these years. I really enjoy the straightforward & transparent way of communication, this creates great vibes and keep s everyone on the same page. I can't wait for Monday to come to meet the team again and I believe that's a great way to evaluate someone's experience in the company.

work-life balance, no commute, great people to work with

Cons

remote work isn't for everyone, you need to be very focused & well-organized
