If you like sports, fun place to work. You get to chat with people about sports often. Customers as well as employees. Sometimes it can get hectic balancing tasks with customer service. Probably better if you don't get stressed trying to multi-task.

Folded clothes

You folded clothes and put back clothes. Expected to answer customers needs and questions. If they are low in staff then expected to cover other areas.

Great place to work

Excellent place to work, flexible, and fun. Helping athletes achieve their dreams through product, and loyalty account expertise. Always worked with my scheduling needs. Leadership was great!

Not a bad place to work.

Honestly it’s a pretty good gig. Pay is good for a retail job and management it good. The work life balance sometimes is a little rocky but overall it’s a good place to work.

Fun but Challenging

Working at Dicks can be fun with the right coworkers but can be stressful like any retail job. Pay is ok but the yearly raise of a 3 cents really stinks.

Not that bad

I worked here for over a year and it was not bad. I was part of the apparel team and it felt easy some days. Something I did not enjoy from this position was that sometimes I was the only apparel person so It felt like i was in charge of taking care of most of the store since apparel is everywhere. I would be on break or bathroom and did not feel like I had the support of coworkers even with simple tasks such as unlocking fitting room doors. When closing time comes, It felt like it was all up to me to clean up store since it is mainly in apparel where customers make a mess. Everyone laid back while iI rushed to clean fast so we can leave as soon as closing. Many times this was very stressful as the apparel lead would hide to avoid doing work or hide the merchandise to avoid putting it away.

Decent job in high school. No room to grow not flexible schedule. Good for high school or in school but never would work there again as an adult. Bad

Company is great, store is too busy to get proper training.

I've been on for just under a month so far, and still have not received orientation. I have not been given more than a couple basic expectations of myself and the level of work they expect from myself. There has been zero direction as to what I am supposed to be doing, and I have been kinda thrown to the wolves. The company has great benefits. The store manager is extremely fair with wages to the best of his abilities, and over all its not a bad place to work. I'm sure I would enjoy it more if I had better training to start me off on the right foot

Very busy

- You can be having a very bad morning or day and go to work and they do not care and get mad at you. I had mentioned my mental health which is very mild but still is very effective and they told me i could go home and they dont need me if im just going to have a breakdown.- I fell off a ladder and I told them about it and had a potential concussion from it, i asked if i could switch departments from footwear to ship from store or something else and they didnt do anything and i still had to go up ladders.- i told them i cant work certain days and certain hours for very specific reasons and they schedule me anyways. You tell them a potential time range and days to schedule you and you hand it to them and they dont follow it at all.- I told them i cant work 8 hours for a specific reason and also school with that and they still scheduled me and i got home at 11:30pm from a bad neighborhood.

Okay place to work

Definitely miscommunication in the store- the pay itself is very good but for the work not sure if it’s worth it. Management (ASM)needs to change big time or they will continue to lose workers

Great place to work. Customer are always happy. Great environment to work. Nice hours. Good discount for employees. Great deals on clothing. Just good

cool coworkers, Incompetent managers

was promoted from a cashier in 6 months. Did not receive any official training on the job until the week I was leaving, 6 months later. Never got support when I clearly needed it, and was still yanked from my tasks regularly to do other duties at the expense of my own.

Worked here years ago

Corporate eliminated the job. I worked there for about a year and a half. Not much I could do. Unfortunately it was out of my control and didn’t have any idea my job was going to be eliminated.

The coworkers were all very great and helpful. However, management changed all the time. So you never knew whether the manager would be someone reliable or not.

My experience at Dick's Sporting Goods was good while it lasted. I was not there very long because I got a job offer elsewhere but my coworkers and management were awesome.

Truly PEOPLE FIRST complany

Most company's claim to have a "people first" mentality and that's not the reality. Dick's truly does care about you - the leader and you - the person. At work, I am actually doing the job I was hired to do. I get to run a true business, teach my leaders, challenge my team, drive brand growth and awareness, build our relationships with the community. And I can go home at night and spend time with my family without my phone going off into all hours of the night. My training was fun and realistic. I spent time with leaders in person and virtual. I have never felt more part of a team than I do here. My boss recognizes us when we deliver and problem solves with us when we don't. He communicates with us consistently and always find a way to keep our job fun-hearted and challenging at the same time. My competitive spirit is appreciated here. I feel like I am making an impact on people's lives through my work. I am finally where I belong!!!

Terrible…Quit after a month

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing good about it…you are on camera all the time you work and if you stop for a minute or sit down..You get a mean message in your earpiece What is the most stressful part about working at the company?On your feet all day and not allowed to sit down for a minute What is the work environment and culture like at the company?You are a robot not a person…There is no respect for you as a person What is a typical day like for you at the company?Long and stressful with no breaks

Decent place to work

Dicks was a decent place to work. The pay was not anything to write home about. The ever-changing expectations passed down from corporate could be a bit of a headache.

Productive and fun workplace

Was a fun place to work. Very laid back. Typical day is working the floor, cleaning up dressing rooms, folding clothes etc. management was nice. Liked it

Good store good people

Exciting place to work with good coworkers. Great to work in a place where people work hard but have fun along the way. Hourly pay isn’t the highest but dealing with experienced managers with set goals and helpful training make it worth while.

Fun Workplace, Poor Management

I worked in every department during my employment here and had a great time. When I became an assistant store manager, I started seeing problems with upper management and decided it was time to go.
