Easy job
Cashier/Customer Service (Former Employee) - Nashville, TN - June 24, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt’s an easy job just selling paint but no room for advancement to do better. Not a career but a good job to have if you just need easy work with no future.

A waste of time
Paint Associate (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - June 23, 2022
Most of the job was counting inventory to have something to do. They were overstaffed for the small clientele they get. I spent most days looking for things to keep me busy.
Pros
Allowed me to make mistakes
Cons
Toxic work environment (hypocrisy and talking behind one's back)

Poor management, boring work place
Decorator and Client Consultant (Former Employee) - Montréal, QC - June 17, 2022
There is a lot to learn. We had to stand all day waiting for clients to serve. You have to do irrelevant work to your job title such as cleaning the store, driving to deposit money in the bank or buying coffee for the employees. All together poor management

Mixer Operator (Current Employee) - Johnstown ny - June 12, 2022
It's a great job! Love it! It's a fun job sometimes stressful but what job isn't right? Great pay and benefits and bonuses with up to 20 hours over time with out being questioned. It's nice to be appreciated as well!

Fast Paced Environment and Patient Management
Full Time Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Tillsonburg, ON - May 21, 2022
There is a lot to learn but it's easy if you try. The staff and management are very patient and do their best to train new skills as time/staffing/skill level permits. Management is reasonable with their expectations and will not overwhelm new staff with too much information at once, which is great since there is a lot to learn. This is an ideal job for those that are detail oriented and can work independently as well as part of a team. Everyone is friendly - staff, contractors and customers!

Fast Paced Work Environment with good pay
Filling Operator (Current Employee) - Milford, MA - May 12, 2022
Good Place to work. Days are busy and things change constantly. Lot of employee turn over as most new people cant keep up. Not a job for those who dont work hard. No sitting or cell phone which is a problem for a lot of new hires. Lot of opportunities to increase pay if you want it.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
never a slow day

Free lunch but it all goes downhill after that.
HR (Former Employee) - Montvale, NJ - April 21, 2022
They say it's an employee friendly culture, but that only applies to W&H environments. You never know how many 'fires' you will need to put out day to day. The work life balance is subpar; expect to be on call like a heart surgeon (but it's making paint). Male, pale, stale runs the company with the same group of guys rotating through the highest level positions. Nobody wants to hear your feedback as much as they ask for it. Management can't get out of their own way.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
No room for growth/no work-life balance

The company provides great training to allow the employees to feel comfortable mixing paint/ advising customers on paint colors and products. Would highly recommend working here.

great people but pay is below average
Chemist (Current Employee) - Flanders, NJ - February 28, 2022
people are great. they are hard working and very friendly. managers are nice but if you're not a favorite or phd you will not get far in pdl. Free lunch and occasional free food truck. Pay is not good at all. Many people have left in 2021 for higher paying jobs. good to start and get experience then leave if not passionate about paint. if you are passionate about paint you'll love it.
Pros
free lunch, 3 weeks vacation starting off

High-output environment focused on accuracy and customer satisfaction
Paint Technician/Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Kelowna, BC - February 27, 2022
Customers are great to get to know over time. Management is not very forgiving on any actions that ultimately lead to a decrease in profitability, Ex) you get a demerit next to your name on the wall if you mistint a paint product, or include a typo in the sales order. t

Good steady work
Operator (Former Employee) - Johnstown, NY - February 10, 2022
Never really had a problem with them. As with any place, they do things that will make you mad, but overall not too bad. Just follow safety procedures so the hazardous chemicals don't get on you!

Fun and engaging with endless learning opportunities and awesome clientele.
Sales Associate / Design Consultant (Former Employee) - Canada - February 7, 2022
Benjamin Moore is an engaging and fun place to work with a great culture and many opportunities to learn new things and specialize in different areas. The pay is not great especially considering how difficult the job is, and the hours aren't conducive to family life, but it is such interesting work that sometimes the negatives don't seem to matter.
Pros
Interesting Fun Great culture
Cons
Long hours Stressful

Don’t waste your talent or time.
Sales Representative (Former Employee) - British Columbia - February 1, 2022
Very expensive paint. Selling to contractors can be difficult depending on owners ability to run their store proficiently. Retailers very but mostly don’t know much about the industry as a whole and do not appeal to contractors for various reasons. If you work store level you are typically safe and if you want a retail job it could work for you.
Cons
Owner puts tremendous stress on employees to produce and work overtime without pay.
