Job Summary

The Waiter is responsible for delivering a seamless, engaging, and memorable dining experience for guests. This role operates in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, where service is social, not transactional, and the focus is on creating an experience beyond just service. The role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate guest needs while maintaining the highest standards of service, professionalism, and hospitality in line with Uma Nota’s brand.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

● Provide warm, genuine, and personalized service to all guests from arrival to departure

● Guide guests through the menu, making recommendations confidently (food, beverages, specials)

● Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests

● Ensure all interactions reflect Uma Nota’s service standards and culture

● Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when necessary

Order Taking & Service Execution

● Accurately take and input orders into the POS system

● Serve food and beverages following proper sequence and timing

● Ensure correct table set-up and maintenance throughout the dining experience

● Monitor table progress and coordinate with kitchen and bar for smooth service flow

● Execute proper clearing, crumbing, and resetting of tables

Product Knowledge

● Maintain strong knowledge of the full menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens

● Understand beverage offerings including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic options

● Stay updated on menu changes, promotions, and seasonal offerings

Team Collaboration

● Work closely with Floor Captains, Hosts, Bar, and Kitchen team to ensure smooth operations

● Support teammates during peak periods and assist in maintaining service standards

● Communicate clearly and effectively with all departments

Operational Standards

● Follow all service procedures and SOPs (Cycle of Service, billing, service recovery, etc.)

● Ensure accuracy in billing and payment handling

● Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned sections and service stations

● Adhere to grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards at all times

Upselling & Revenue Contribution

● Actively promote menu items, specials, and experiences (e.g., chef’s menu)

● Maximize guest spend through thoughtful and appropriate upselling

● Contribute to achieving outlet sales targets

Qualifications

● Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills

● Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
