Full job description

A waiter is responsible for ensuring guests have a smooth, enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. Their core duties include greeting and seating guests, taking food and drink orders, delivering meals, proactively checking in on satisfaction, and handling payment transactions. A waiter's responsibilities can be broken down into three main phases of service:
1. Preparation & Guest Relations

  • Setup: Prepare dining areas by setting up linens, silverware, and glassware.
  • Greeting: Warmly welcome guests, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
  • Recommendations: Inform patrons about daily specials, offer menu recommendations, and answer any questions regarding ingredients or preparation.
  • Up-selling: Suggest additional products (like appetizers, drinks, or desserts) when appropriate.

2. Service Operations

  • Order Taking: Accurately take orders via memorization, order slips, or Point of Sale (POS) software.
  • Communication: Communicate order details, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Serving: Deliver food and beverages promptly.
  • Quality Check: Inspect dishes for proper presentation and temperature before serving, and report any issues.
  • Guest Attention: Periodically check in with customers during their meal to ensure satisfaction and refill drinks.

3. Cleanup & Payments

  • Payment Processing: Bring checks to the table, process payments (cash or card), and return change or receipts.
  • Clearing: Clear dirty plates, glasses, and silverware from the table and transport them to the kitchen area.
  • Sanitation: Reset tables with clean place settings and maintain a tidy, clean dining area.

Pay: Php18,000.00 - Php19,000.00 per month
