Position: Hemodialysis Nurse

Functions:

• Understand the philosophy, policies, and the standard operational procedure of the hospital and the Nursing service
• Follow procedures pertinent to infection control
• Keep up-to-date on medical and nursing procedures
• Keep the patient’s record complete, accurate and secure
• Provide patient care in conformity within the standard procedure of the hospital
• Inform the Senior Nurse of all nursing care problems
• Maintain, check and evaluate the equipment and instruments in the unit
• Complete stock and provide a system of replenishment of the supplies in the HD unit
• Assess patient before, during and post procedure until the patient is being discharged from the dialysis unit
• Ensure to deliver safe, adequate and effective dialysis treatment by monitoring patient every 30 minutes
• Manage complications that may arise during treatment. Collaborate with Hemodialysis physician to deliver appropriate medical management efficiently and effectively
• Enhance Hemodialysis services to our client through quality services
• Review the orders and previous treatment records
• Prepare all materials needed to perform efficient nursing care
• Coordinate to the Dietitian and/or Nutritionist to provide correct and accurate information relating to patients’ nutritional needs
• Secure complete and accurate documentation regarding patients’ treatment
• Terminate the treatment properly and accordingly
• Discuss the HD unit protocol, house rules and evacuation plan in case of emergency to patients and relatives
• Ensure the safety of the patient in the event of natural calamities and disasters
