Job Summary:

A Trailer Driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently using a trailer truck. The role involves long-distance driving, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining the vehicle in good condition.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate trailer trucks to transport goods to assigned destinations
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of cargo
  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips (brakes, tires, lights, etc.)
  • Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
  • Report delays, accidents, or vehicle issues immediately
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
  • Coordinate with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid professional driver’s license (e.g., CDL or local equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a trailer or truck driver
  • Good knowledge of road safety rules and regulations
  • Physically fit and able to handle long driving hours
  • Good communication and time management skills
