Full job description

As an Ophthalmic Technician, your primary role involves providing technical support and assistance to ophthalmologists and optometrists in diagnosing and treating eye-related conditions.

1. Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by obtaining their medical history, explaining procedures, and answering any questions they may have.

2. Preliminary Testing: Perform various diagnostic tests such as visual acuity tests, tonometry (eye pressure measurement), visual field testing, and retinal imaging.

3. Assist with Procedures: Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during procedures such as eye surgeries, laser treatments, and injections.

4. Maintain Equipment: Ensure all ophthalmic equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and sterilized for optimal performance and safety.

5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, including test results, medical history, and treatment plans.

6. Administrative Tasks: Assist with scheduling appointments, billing, and other administrative duties as needed.

7. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
