Job Summary

We are currently building a talent pool for experienced and passionate Thai Chefs who will be part of the opening team of our upcoming Thai restaurant in the Philippines. This pooling initiative aims to identify qualified candidates in advance to support the successful launch and operations of our new restaurant.

The Thai Chef will be responsible for preparing authentic Thai cuisine, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and food safety, while contributing to menu development and efficient kitchen operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing the restaurant's culinary identity and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation and Production

  • Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes in accordance with standardized recipes and restaurant quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency in flavor, portion size, and food presentation.
  • Prepare Thai sauces, curry pastes, soups, stir-fried dishes, noodle dishes, rice dishes, salads, desserts, and specialty menu items.
  • Maintain freshness and quality of all ingredients used.

Menu Development

  • Assist in developing and refining the restaurant's Thai menu.
  • Recommend new dishes, seasonal offerings, and promotional items.
  • Standardize recipes and preparation methods to ensure consistency across all menu items.

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Coordinate food preparation to ensure timely service.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all food products using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.

Inventory and Cost Control

  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Assist in ordering and receiving stocks.
  • Minimize food waste through proper portioning and inventory management.
  • Support management in achieving food cost targets.

Food Safety and Sanitation

  • Strictly comply with Philippine food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.
  • Practice proper food handling procedures at all times.

Team Leadership

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on authentic Thai cooking techniques and recipe standards.
  • Foster teamwork and effective communication within the kitchen.
  • Assist management in maintaining discipline and productivity among kitchen personnel.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality checks on all dishes before service.
  • Maintain consistency in food quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Address food quality concerns promptly and professionally.

Other Duties

  • Participate in restaurant pre-opening activities, including kitchen setup, menu testing, recipe standardization, supplier evaluation, and staff training.
  • Support restaurant promotions, catering events, and special functions.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience specializing in authentic Thai cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Thai ingredients, herbs, spices, cooking methods, and food presentation.
  • Experience in restaurant opening or pre-opening operations is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with Philippine food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.

This vacancy is for talent pooling in preparation for the opening of a new Thai restaurant.
