About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to support one of our UK-based clients. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction procurement, responsible for sourcing and purchasing construction materials while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.

A solid understanding of construction materials is essential, as you'll be procuring items such as ceiling tiles, dry lining materials, mastic, paint, and other building supplies. This is a key part of the role and requires confidence in identifying and ordering the correct products.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials and supplies
• Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
• Create and process Purchase Orders (POs)
• Research, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries
• Monitor order status and resolve supply issues as needed
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Work closely with internal teams to support project requirements
• Compare supplier pricing to achieve cost-effective purchasing

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
• Construction industry experience is essential
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, including products such as: Ceiling tiles, Dry lining materials, Mastic, Paint, General building materials
• Experience preparing RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier sourcing
• Strong supplier coordination and procurement administration skills
• Good organizational and negotiation abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel
• Good written and spoken English for internal communication

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting UK construction projects
• Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems
• Experience working remotely with construction or specialist contracting companies.

We're looking for a detail-oriented procurement professional who understands the construction industry and can confidently source the right materials, coordinate with suppliers, and support project teams with efficient purchasing processes.

• USD $6.00 to $8.00 per hour, full-time, commensurate with experience and seniority
