Full job description

Support study implementation by collecting, handling and storing specimens of study participants, running applicable point-of-care tests, and facilitating onward transport of specimens to partner laboratories

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology

Professional Experience:

  • Licensed medical technologist
  • Preferably with at least one (1) year experience in the role but new board passers are welcome
  • Completion of trainings in HIV proficiency and/or biosafety & biosecurity highly advantageous but not required

Competencies Required:

  • CLINICAL - Able to collect, label, handle, store and transport blood and other specimens using safe, hygienic and secure procedures
  • TECHNICAL - Proficient in oral and written English business communication; operation of computer, ICT and laboratory equipment; knowledge in the use of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace; organizational skills; partnership management; time and workload management
  • OTHERS - Can work with minimal supervision, highly trainable, detail-oriented, resourceful, can work well within a team, proactive, open to constructive feedback, and gender-sensitive
