First, what this job is and is not

This is not a video editing job.

This is not a graphic design job.

This is not a role where you will create complete social media strategies from scratch.

This role is for someone who can take an existing strategy, turn it into strong content ideas, manage those ideas through production, review the finished work, and prepare posts for approval.

Most importantly, this position is designed to grow into a Social Media Manager role, with increasing responsibility for planning, reporting, client communication, and account ownership.

About the role

Social Media Co-op is looking for a creative, organized, and extremely detail-oriented Social Media Assistant to support multiple client accounts.

You will work directly with the Creative Director, who will provide the strategy, monthly goals, and client direction. You will help bring that direction to life by pitching content ideas, creating assignments, managing editors, reviewing their work, and preparing content in Vista Social.

You will not create the graphics or edit the videos yourself. You will make sure the right content gets created correctly and on time.

What you will do

  • Pitch content ideas based on existing strategies and monthly goals
  • Turn approved ideas into clear assignments for designers and editors
  • Manage tasks, deadlines, feedback, and revisions in Asana
  • Conduct the first round of quality assurance
  • Draft or refine social media captions
  • Match captions, graphics, videos, thumbnails, links, and post numbers
  • Research handles, titles, links, speakers, brands, and other post details
  • Prepare and schedule content in Vista Social
  • Keep multiple client projects organized and moving forward

Interview process

Final-round candidates will complete a paid performance and attention-to-detail test based on the actual responsibilities of the role.

This may include pitching content ideas, organizing a creative assignment, reviewing social media materials, and identifying errors or missing information.

This is not an editing or graphic-design test.
