Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing front-desk and administrative support at an oncology or chemotherapy center. The role includes patient registration, appointment scheduling, answering inquiries, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk Operations

  • Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and healthcare providers professionally and courteously.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate departments or personnel.

Appointment Scheduling

  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments, chemotherapy sessions, consultations, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain and update physician and treatment schedules.
  • Notify patients regarding appointment changes or requirements.

Patient Registration & Records

  • Register new patients and update existing patient information.
  • Verify identification and PhilHealth details.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and files.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in preparing patient documents, forms, and medical records.
  • Coordinate with nurses, physicians, billing staff, and pharmacy personnel.
  • Monitor office supplies and request replenishment when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Address patient concerns and provide basic information regarding clinic procedures.
  • Ensure a compassionate and supportive environment, especially for oncology patients and families.
  • Handle sensitive situations professionally and empathetically.

Qualifications

  • College graduate (any course)
  • 1–2 years front desk/customer service experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate
  • Presentable and organized
  • Preferably residing or near San Mateo
