Full job description

Keep Paradise Running.

At Outpost Hostels, every unforgettable guest experience starts with a property that runs safely, smoothly, and reliably.

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor who can lead a small team while taking ownership of the maintenance and engineering operations of one of our island properties.

If you're the type of leader who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, mentoring technicians, and isn't afraid to get your hands dirty when needed, we'd love to meet you.

Your Role

You'll oversee the day-to-day maintenance of one Outpost property while leading a team of three maintenance technicians.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that every part of the property is safe, functional, and guest-ready—from accommodations and restaurants to pools, staff housing, utilities, and back-of-house facilities.

This is a leadership role, but it's also a hands-on position. You'll lead by example, troubleshoot issues, and step in whenever the team needs support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of three maintenance technicians.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs across the property.
  • Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, staff housing, offices, and utility systems are operating efficiently.
  • Perform and oversee repairs involving electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, carpentry, painting, mechanical equipment, and general building maintenance.
  • Respond quickly to urgent maintenance concerns to minimize guest disruption.
  • Coordinate contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and projects.
  • Monitor maintenance inventories, tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Recommend facility improvements, upgrades, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and government regulations.
  • Work closely with Operations, Housekeeping, Kitchen, and Front Office to keep the property operating at its best.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has at least 3 years of experience leading a maintenance or engineering team.
  • Has experience in hotels, resorts, hostels, commercial buildings, hospitals, manufacturing, or facilities management.
  • Is knowledgeable in electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, air-conditioning, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Enjoys leading people while remaining hands-on with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Can prioritize work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Has strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
  • Takes pride in keeping facilities operating at a high standard.

Technical certifications such as TESDA NC II, Electrical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or related trades are an advantage but not required.

What We Offer

  • Free staff accommodation
  • Free daily meals
  • Government-mandated benefits
  • Company-issued motorbike with fuel allowance for work-related use
  • Career growth opportunities within a growing hospitality group
  • Work and live in the beautiful island destinations of Coron or El Nido

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  • Build a reliable preventive maintenance program.
  • Improve response times for maintenance requests.
  • Reduce recurring equipment breakdowns.
  • Keep guest-facing facilities consistently operational.
  • Develop a motivated, accountable maintenance team.
  • Help create a safer and more efficient property for both guests and staff.

Pay: Php40,000.00 - Php50,000.00 per month
