POSITION OVERVIEW

The Waitstaff is responsible for ensuring diners have a positive experience at the Hotel’s restaurant by exhibiting excellent guest service. He/she greets diners and takes their orders, communicates with members of the kitchen about orders, and carries meals or beverages to the correct tables. The Waitstaff also verifies the ages of customers for discounts and promotions and may process their payments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet guests and hand out menus.
• Take orders from guests.
• Answer questions about menu items, food sensitivities, and food substitutions.
• Give guests suggestions for food and drinks and inform them about any special menu items.
• Serve beverages and food to guests.
• Communicate with guests and resolve any complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Remove used dishes from tables to avoid clutter while guests are eating.
• Ask the cashier to prepare the bill for tables when requested.
• Cash up bills and ensure that the correct amount has been paid.
• Process guests’ payments when necessary.
• Cleaning tables after guests have finished their meals.
• Administer change to tables, if needed.
• Ensure that the restaurant is kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
