Full job description

The Café Manager is responsible for leading assigned café teams in achieving a culture of hospitality and operational excellence. The role is also responsible for managing efficiency in financial performance within food, labor, and operational budgets, and upholds workplace and food safety standards, to ensure compliance with regulatory and client expectations.

The Cafe Manager also supports a culture rooted in innovation, inclusion, and sustainability, and actively participates in the successful implementation of all Sodexo at Google-aligned initiatives and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

● Oversee daily operations of café and foodspots including service, cleanliness, and user experience in adherence to the Sodexo at Google brand and standards.

● Lead morning briefings, track daily operations checklists, and ensure food standards are followed by all food teams.

● Conducts meal line check, portioning and managing service flow during peak periods to optimize efficiency and enhance the overall user experience.

● Take ownership of the full service cycle, including pre- and post-meal execution and guest feedback.

● Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.

● Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to ensure menu execution, service alignment, appropriate and balanced-menu aligned with client standards.

● Other Food Service related tasks as assigned by the line manager and in alignment with the Job role.

● Collaborate with site management and security teams to develop and enforce robust protocols that minimize risks of inventory loss and ensure the integrity of assets.

● Conduct routine inspections of storage areas, receiving docks, and service points to ensure proper inventory control, secure handling of goods, and adherence to company policies.

● Investigate and report any suspicious activities or identified pilferage gaps immediately, following established internal procedures and collaborating with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.

Financial and Resource Management

● Manage food team labor productivity, scheduling, timekeeping, and shift coverage to ensure optimal coverage, cost efficiency and budget expectations.

● Ensure proper usage and documentation of inventory, uniforms, consumables, and service materials.

● Lead teams to operate within committed spend for labor, food cost, and other operating expenses.

● Ensure accurate timesheet approvals, scheduling, and attendance tracking using Sodexo systems.

● Ensure proper ordering and inventory control practices to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.

● Lead inventory control practices including accurate stock counts, FIFO/FEFO systems, and order forecasting.

People Leadership

● Supervise, schedule, and train the food team to maintain high performance and service standards.

● Foster a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

● Ensure accountability across the team for performance and consistency. Set personalized learning targets, conduct performance reviews, and implement performance improvement plans.

● Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all team activities and staffing practices.

● Act as a positive brand ambassador for Sodexo at Google, you are an active and visible representative who embodies the company's values and commitment to excellence in every interaction with your team and clients.

User Experience

● Ensure café ambiance and cleanliness meet Google and Sodexo workplace experience and hospitality standards.

● Participate in Google client meetings and respond to initiatives or program changes.

● Support implementation of new food programs, food concepts, and service improvements across all cafes and food spots.

● Support catering and special events including POC Town Halls, or external VIP visits.

● Handle user feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Food and Workplace Safety

● Conduct regular safety walks uploaded in Salus to ensure all safety and sanitation protocols are consistently followed across all sites, cafe and Food spots.

● Partner with the QHSE team and Food Safety Officer to ensure compliance with food safety training and procedures.

● Ensure allergen management procedures are followed with zero tolerance for error. Report allergen errors in menu cards (if any) to the culinary team.

● Report near-miss, injuries, accidents, or food safety incidents accurately and promptly using the established Sodexo escalation protocols and digital reporting tools.

Educational & Technical Requirement:

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Or Associate degree or Technical/Vocational diploma in Hospitality or Culinary Management acceptable with strong industry experience

● Job training / Certifications: Basic Food Safety, ServSafe Certification or FoodSHAP Strong understanding of food safety (HACCP), quality standards, and DOH compliance.

● Experience : 3–5 years of experience in food service management, hospitality operations, or catering. Experience managing multi-functional teams in a high-volume, premium service environment.

● Technical : Working knowledge of labor scheduling, cost control, and vendor coordination.

● Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills.

● Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.

● Familiar with HACCP, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

● Excellent Communication, problem-solving ability and customer service orientation.

Pay: Php60,000.00 - Php80,000.00 per month
