Full job description

PURPOSE: The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for overseeing and strengthening quality

assurance and food safety controls across bakery and commissary operations. The

position monitors compliance with established standards, evaluates production

processes and product quality, leads corrective and preventive actions, maintains quality

documentation, and coordinates with relevant teams to ensure consistent product safety,

quality, and regulatory compliance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Quality Assurance & Quality Control

  • Lead and conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods,

equipment, and production areas to verify compliance with approved quality standards.

  • Evaluate product specifications, testing results, and quality indicators and recommend appropriate

action when standards are not met.

  • Monitor product quality for taste, texture, appearance, consistency, and other applicable

specifications.

  • Ensure quality control activities are consistently implemented across assigned operations.

2. Process & Production Monitoring

  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with company standards, food safety

requirements, GMP, HACCP, and approved procedures.

  • Identify process gaps, quality risks, and recurring non-conformities and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other concerned teams to address quality

and process issues.

3. Corrective & Preventive Action

  • Investigate product and process-related quality issues and determine appropriate corrective and

preventive actions.

  • Monitor implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions and escalate unresolved or critical

issues to management.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, food safety, and operational

consistency.

4. Documentation, Reporting & Records

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of inspection reports, test results, quality records, non￾conformance reports, and other QA documentation.
  • Prepare regular quality reports and present significant findings, trends, and recommendations to

management.

  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating SOPs, quality manuals, inspection forms, and other

controlled documents.

5. Audit & Compliance

  • Participate in and/or lead internal quality and food safety audits as assigned.
  • Verify compliance with applicable FDA, local health department, food safety, and company

requirements.

  • Maintain readiness of quality records and supporting documentation for internal and external

assessments.

6. Training & Team Development

  • Conduct or facilitate training for production and support personnel on quality control procedures,

food safety practices, GMP, HACCP, and relevant company standards.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members regarding quality requirements and proper

procedures.

7. Product Sampling & Evaluation

  • Perform scheduled and risk-based product sampling and evaluation to verify compliance with

approved specifications.

  • Document sampling results and initiate appropriate action for products that do not meet standards.

8. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate quality concerns, risks, audit findings, and recommended improvements clearly to

management and concerned departments.

  • Build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams to support consistent

implementation of quality and food safety programs.

9. Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by management from time to

time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology or any related field.

Licensed Food Technologist is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance experience in a commissary or food

manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices

(GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).

Experience in implementing and maintaining quality assurance programs and food

safety standards.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Proficient in preparing quality reports, conducting audits, and ensuring regulatory

compliance.

SKILLS: Must be organized and detail-oriented

Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance processes.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with quality management software.

Pay: Php35,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
