Full job description

Position: Certified Medical Coder

Location: Remote (Philippines)

Schedule: Eastern Standard Time (EST)

We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder located in the Philippines to join our growing U.S.-based healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team.

Qualifications:

✅ Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent medical coding certification preferred

✅ Minimum 2+ years of U.S. medical coding experience

✅ Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines

✅ Experience reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate medical procedure and diagnosis codes

✅ Familiarity with U.S. healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and claim submission requirements

✅ Experience with medical coding audits, claim corrections, denial management, and appeals

✅ Knowledge of E/M coding, modifiers, medical terminology, and coding compliance

✅ Proficiency with EHR/EMR and practice management systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks (eCW), Athenahealth, Cerner, or similar systems

✅ Strong attention to detail and excellent English communication skills

✅ Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Medical coding audits and quality assurance
  • ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding review
  • Medical necessity and documentation review
  • Denial analysis and resolution
  • Insurance verification and eligibility knowledge
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
  • Experience working with physician practices, hospitals, FQHCs, or multi-specialty healthcare organizations
