About the Role

Wallem Philippines Shipping, Inc. (WPSI) is looking for an efficient and highly organized Operations Staff to join our Airline Division. In this role, you will ensure the immediate, compliant, and efficient execution of all ramp, terminal, and warehouse activities for our airline principals. Your main goal will be to supervise ground-handling agents, manage aircraft dispatch metrics (weight, balance, fueling), and secure maximum payload utilization while maintaining an on-time flight performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ramp & Warehouse Supervision: Directly oversee the designated ground-handling agent, monitor physical cargo loading/offloading, and inspect freight quality.
  • Aircraft Dispatch & Crew Support: Brief captains on flight/weather plans, calculate payload capacities, coordinate fueling needs, and arrange crew lodging and transport logistics.
  • Logistics & Inventory Control: Manage Unit Load Device (ULD) inventory, track irregular or damaged cargo traffic, and handle operational emergencies like Aircraft on Ground (AOG) logistics.
  • System Management & Communication: Update the CHAMP aviation system (Flight Cost Reports, ULD logs, Advanced Shipping Notices) and maintain constant contact with transit stops and internal teams.
  • Government Liaison: Process and clear all required documents with border and airport authorities, including MIAA, BOC-NAIA, BI, and BOQ, while adhering to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of formal education and intensive aviation operations training.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of active technical experience in airport ramp operations, air cargo logistics, or flight dispatch.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical aircraft weight/balance metrics, safety rules, and aviation laws.
  • Soft Skills: Strong supervisory capabilities, excellent written and oral business English, and a high capacity to manage and coach teams.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work flexible hours on the open tarmac under extreme outside weather conditions (heat, heavy rain) and high noise levels.
  • Certified Loadmaster skills and valid load control credentials. (Preferred)
  • Formal certification in Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations. (Preferred)
  • Experience using the CHAMP software platform or similar airline ERP engines. (Preferred)
  • Existing contacts with NAIA border control agencies (BOC, MIAA). (Preferred)
