Job Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant supports the hospital pharmacy team in the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation, dispensing, storage, and distribution of medications and pharmacy supplies. The position assists pharmacists and other healthcare professionals while maintaining high standards of patient safety, inventory control, confidentiality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications under appropriate supervision and in accordance with hospital policies.
• Receive, check, label, organize, and store medicines and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Prepare medication orders and supplies for hospital departments and authorized patients.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels, expiration dates, and storage conditions.
• Assist with regular physical inventory counts and report shortages, damaged products, and near-expiry or expired medicines.
• Ensure medications are stored properly according to required temperature, security, and handling procedures.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work area.
• Coordinate with nurses, physicians, purchasing personnel, and other hospital departments regarding medication and supply requests.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and verifying items against purchase orders or delivery documents.
• Observe proper procedures for controlled, high-alert, refrigerated, and other specially handled medications as directed by the pharmacist.
• Protect patient information and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to patients, hospital staff, and visitors.
• Report medication discrepancies, damaged products, safety concerns, and other incidents promptly to the pharmacist or supervisor.
• Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by the pharmacist or hospital management.

Pay: Php10,875.00 - Php13,050.00 per month
