Full job description

Videographer — Bacolod

We are looking for a reliable, creative, and experienced Videographer in Bacolod to help film a new documentary-style show and streaming channel.

The docuseries follows an artist traveling throughout the Philippines, documenting festivals, city life, social environments, travel, conversations, nightlife, performances, and real-world experiences.

The first and main assignments will be on Friday, October 16th andSaturday, October 17th , during MassKara..

This is a project-by-project position, with the possibility of additional filming work throughout the Philippines if the fit is strong.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable filming documentary-style content in fast-moving public environments, including festivals, crowds, street celebrations, nightlife, and spontaneous interactions.

WHAT WE NEED:

  • Film the artist throughout the MassKar festival and surrounding activities
  • Capture high-quality documentary footage
  • Follow the artist through public and social environments
  • Capture natural interactions and conversations
  • Film festival performances, crowds, street activity, and local culture
  • Capture establishing shots and environmental footage
  • Capture both planned and spontaneous moments
  • Film handheld and/or stabilized footage
  • Help capture dynamic footage in crowded environments
  • Film during both daytime and nighttime activities
  • Capture footage suitable for long-form YouTube/documentary content
  • Capture additional footage for social media and promotional content
  • Work with the artist and production team to capture important moments
  • Be adaptable when filming situations change quickly
  • Safely manage and protect camera equipment during crowded events

YOU SHOULD:

  • Have experience filming video professionally or semi-professionally
  • Have a strong understanding of composition, framing, movement, and lighting
  • Be comfortable filming handheld in fast-moving environments
  • Be comfortable filming in large crowds
  • Be comfortable filming festivals, nightlife, and street environments
  • Be able to anticipate moments rather than simply react to them
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Be comfortable working independently
  • Be adaptable and able to make creative decisions in the field
  • Be comfortable working closely with an artist and creative team
  • Have an eye for authentic human moments and storytelling

OCTOBER 16th and 17 ASSIGNMENT:

The selected videographer must be available all day and into the evening on Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th.

The assignment may include filming:

  • Festival
  • Local festival activities
  • Community interactions
  • Behind-the-scenes content
  • Street celebrations
  • Nightlife and social environments

The filming day will involve walking, crowds, outdoor environments, changing lighting conditions, and extended periods of shooting.

Candidates should be comfortable working in these conditions.

IMPORTANT:

We are looking for someone who understands that documentary filmmaking is about more than getting technically perfect shots.

The goal is to capture people, energy, reactions, movement, culture, and authentic moments.

You should be comfortable noticing something happening in the crowd and moving quickly to capture it.

You should also be comfortable following the artist and capturing moments naturally without constantly directing the scene.
