ROLE PURPOSE

Our Immunizing Nurse plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, community-based healthcare services through the safe and efficient administration of vaccines and injectable medications. This position supports our expanded health services by enhancing public access to immunization programs, health screenings, and patient education. The Immunizing Nurse ensures compliance with clinical protocols and safety standards while providing compassionate, personalized care. They also collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain operational excellence and support regulatory compliance within the store.

This role focuses on

• Administering vaccines and injectable medications in accordance with medical guidelines, manufacturer recommendations, and local regulatory requirements.
• Conducting patient assessments to determine immunization eligibility and addressing medical histories or contraindications.
• Providing accurate health information, post-vaccination care instructions, and responding to patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
• Ensuring safe storage, handling, and documentation of vaccines and adherence to cold chain protocols.
• Coordinating with Pharmacists and other healthcare staff in delivering seamless patient services.
• Supporting the implementation of health campaigns and seasonal vaccination drives (e.g., flu, COVID-19, travel vaccines).
• Assisting in emergency response and adverse event management when needed.
• Maintaining cleanliness and infection control protocols in clinical areas.
• Participating in continuous improvement of services, customer experience, and team collaboration.

Success will depend on

• Strong clinical knowledge of vaccines, immunization schedules, and safe injection techniques.
• Confidence in patient interactions, with a focus on clear communication, trust-building, and service excellence.
• Proficiency in patient documentation, record-keeping, and use of digital health systems.
• Ability to recognize and respond to adverse events and emergencies with composure and proper protocols.
• Commitment to compliance with all healthcare regulations, safety guidelines, and ethical standards.
• Ability to support health promotion activities and cross-functional teamwork in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing health needs, clinic schedules, and immunization priorities.
