Full job description

· Oversee and coordinate extraction activities—blasting, drilling, loading, hauling, crushing—to meet production targets while safeguarding quality

· Ensure a strong safety culture: conduct toolbox talks, hazard identifications, permit-to-work checks, and compliance with MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration)/OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)/OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) rules.

· Schedule, assign, and supervise a team of operators, drillers, blasters, mechanics, and laborers; include crew training, coaching, performance feedback, and incident reviews

· Read and interpret mining/quarry site plans, blueprints, and geological data; adjust workflow plans accordingly

· Manage equipment maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs; report breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance staff .

· Oversee cost control, budgeting, daily reporting, and production analysis—tagging downtime, shift logs, materials usage, and billing prep .

· Liaise with stakeholders—head office, clients, regulatory inspectors—and handle environmental monitoring and permit compliance

· Drive continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and collaborating with engineering and planning teams
