Medical Coder (Risk Adjustment / HCC Coding) – Remote

We are looking for experienced Medical Coders specializing in Risk Adjustment Coding to join our growing team. This role supports managed care coding operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely turnaround of medical chart reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate medical coding using ICD-10-CM guidelines (manual coding required; no encoder reliance)
• Review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis codes, with emphasis on HCC / Risk Adjustment coding
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient data
• Validate coding accuracy in support of risk adjustment and managed care requirements
• Meet productivity and turnaround expectations (typically 24–48 hour turnaround time per chart)
• Work independently while maintaining communication and coordination with team members across locations and time zones
• Maintain accurate documentation and coding outputs using company systems and tools

QualificationsEducation & Certification

• Active coding certification required: CRC, CPC, or CCS-P (AAPC or equivalent)
• Certifications such as CCA or CPC-A are not accepted

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified medical coder
• Strong background in Risk Adjustment Coding (HCC models) preferred
• Experience working with various Electronic Medical Records (EMR systems)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HCC coding models and ICD-10-CM outpatient coding guidelines
• Ability to code using an ICD-10-CM code book without encoder assistance
• Strong clinical understanding of chronic diseases and disease management
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong grammar, business writing, and documentation skills
• Advanced computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation tools)
• Ability to handle confidential information with strong judgment and discretion
• Highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments independently

Pay: From Php400.00 per hour
