Full job description

The Medical Technologist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Clinical Laboratory, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory services. The position supervises laboratory personnel, monitors compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, and assists in maintaining efficient laboratory operations while providing technical expertise in all laboratory sections.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Medical Technologists and laboratory staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory test results.
  • Oversee laboratory operations in the areas of Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, and other laboratory sections.
  • Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, processing, testing, and reporting in accordance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards.
  • Monitor quality control programs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct staff scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and training.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, supplies, and reagents to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
  • Investigate laboratory incidents, errors, and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding laboratory concerns and requirements.
  • Participate in accreditation activities, audits, and continuous quality improvement programs.
  • Prepare operational and performance reports as required by management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) / Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Must be a Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) with a valid PRC license.
  • preferably with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Able to process specimens in accordance with Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Serology procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in laboratory quality assurance, quality control, laboratory safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work on a shifting schedule.
  • Willing to be assigned in Clark, Pampanga.
