Position Summary

The Medical Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative and medical office support to ensure the efficient operation of the client's healthcare practice. The position is responsible for assisting with insurance billing, claim submissions, and patient pre-authorizations. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and a working knowledge of basic medical terminology to support timely patient care and efficient office operations.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Billing and Insurance

  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and processing medical insurance claims.
  • Submit insurance claims accurately and promptly to insurance providers.
  • Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding or denied claims.
  • Verify patients' insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies regarding claims, coverage, authorizations, and billing concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of billing activities and insurance transactions.

Patient pre-authorization

  • Process and obtain insurance pre-authorizations for medical procedures, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
  • Ensure required documentation is complete before submitting authorization requests.
  • Monitor authorization status and communicate updates to the appropriate personnel.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain and organize patient and insurance-related documents and records.
  • Perform filing and documentation management related to insurances
  • Assist in maintaining accurate electronic records.
  • Prepare reports and other administrative documents as required.

Client and Office Coordination

  • Communicate professionally with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and other authorized stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the client's medical office regarding documentation, claim status, and administrative requirements.
  • Assist in resolving administrative and insurance-related concerns in a timely manner.

Compliance

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and healthcare industry standards.

Other Duties

  • Perform other administrative and operational duties assigned by higher authority.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, or any related medical or healthcare field

· At least 1-year relevant work experience

· Excellent verbal communication, customer service

· Outstanding phone etiquette (communication and interpersonal skills).

· Willing to work night shifts.
