BASIC FUNCTION

A Nursing Care Attendant (NCA) plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing compassionate and essential support to patients and nurses alike. With a blend of empathy, professionalism and attention to detail, they contribute to the well-being and comfort of individuals in various healthcare settings. Their dedication in assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient vital signs, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment makes them an indispensable member of the healthcare community.

NCA play a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care delivery, ensuring efficient operations, and enhancing the overall patient experience in outpatient settings. In an outpatient department (OPD), NCA performs various essential functions to support the smooth operation of healthcare services.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Patient Intake and Registration:

Assists patients with basic activities such as registration, filling out forms, collecting demographic information. Ensures that all necessary forms and documents are completed accurately and directing them to the appropriate areas within the OPD. Assists

2. Vital Signs Assessment:

Measures and records vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, temperature, pain score, oxygen saturation, height and weight before patients see the healthcare provider.

3. Patient Comfort and Support:

Provides emotional support and reassurance to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort while waiting for their appointments or during procedures.

4. Patient Preparation:

Ensures patients are prepared for their consultation or procedure by providing necessary instructions, such as fasting requirements or medication adjustments.

5. Room Preparation:

Sets up examination rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.

6. Support during Procedures:

Assists healthcare providers during minor procedures or examinations by providing necessary equipment, patient positioning and offering reassurance and comfort.

7. Patient Education:

Provides basic information to patients about their conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow up instructions as directed by healthcare providers. Offers basic health education to patients, explaining procedures, treatments, and medications prescribed by the healthcare provider, as well providing instructions for follow-up care and self-management of conditions.

8. Medical Equipment Handling:

Ensures that medical equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained according to established protocols to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.

9. Inventory Management:

Keeps track of medical supplies and equipment in the OPD, ensures adequate stock levels, and reporting any shortages or issues to the appropriate personnel.

10. Safety and Hygiene:

Adheres strictly to infection control protocols, maintains cleanliness in patient areas and promotes safe environment for patients and staff to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.

11. Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and administrative staff to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Caregiving NC II Certified.

- BS in Nursing Underboard

- Computer literate (MS Office)

- Speaks English and Filipino, with effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php18,000.00 - Php19,000.00 per month
