Overview

We are seeking an experienced Hospice Billing Specialist to support ADMT Caring Hospice, a U.S.-based hospice care provider. This role is essential in managing accurate and timely hospice claims processing, Medicare billing, and revenue cycle operations to help maintain consistent cash flow.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in U.S. hospice billing, particularly Medicare claims, hospice benefit periods, NOEs, NOTRs, denial resolution, and accounts receivable management. This position requires someone who can independently manage an assigned billing account, follow up persistently on unpaid claims, communicate billing issues proactively, and maintain accurate, audit-ready records while ensuring compliance with payer requirements and HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities

Hospice Claims & Revenue Cycle Management

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate hospice claims to Medicare and other applicable payers within required timelines.
• Manage hospice billing workflows, including Notices of Election (NOEs), Notices of Termination/Revocation (NOTRs), and other applicable billing notices.
• Verify patient eligibility, coverage, admission and discharge details, hospice benefit periods, and supporting billing documentation.
• Track claim status, investigate rejected or unpaid claims, and complete corrections, resubmissions, and follow-ups.
• Monitor accounts receivable, aging reports, and outstanding balances, prioritizing timely resolution of unpaid claims.

Payment Posting, Reconciliation & Reporting

• Post and reconcile payer payments, adjustments, and remittance information; investigate discrepancies and underpayments.
• Research denials and billing exceptions, coordinating appeals or corrected claims when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate billing records and prepare routine reports on claims, collections, denials, and accounts receivable.
• Identify recurring billing issues and recommend improvements to reduce claim delays and revenue loss.

Compliance & Team Coordination

• Follow applicable CMS Medicare hospice billing requirements, payer policies, HIPAA, and internal procedures.
• Coordinate with intake, clinical, and administrative teams to resolve documentation gaps and obtain missing information.
• Communicate billing issues, follow-up needs, and potential delays clearly and proactively.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records and safeguard confidential patient and financial information.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with U.S. hospice billing and Medicare hospice claims is required.
• Working knowledge of hospice billing requirements, including NOEs, benefit periods, claim submission, and denial resolution.
• Experience with electronic claims processing, billing systems, payment posting, reconciliation, and A/R follow-up.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical problem-solving, and deadline management.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned billing responsibilities, and communicate proactively with leadership.
• Comfortable coordinating with U.S.-based teams dJob title uring assigned daytime hours.

Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience using Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) portals and hospice-specific billing software.
• Experience with Medicaid, commercial insurance, or secondary hospice billing.
• Familiarity with hospice EMR workflows and revenue cycle reporting.
• Experience identifying recurring billing issues and implementing process improvements.
