Job Summary
We are seeking a Virtual Healthcare Assistant with a background in Nursing or Paramedical Sciences to support our healthcare operations. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply sound clinical judgment when reviewing medical records and healthcare-related concerns.
This position involves reviewing and organizing medical documentation, assisting with medical necessity-related concerns, and handling inbound calls from patients, healthcare providers, home health agencies, pharmacies, and other healthcare-related contacts.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and clinical documentation related to medical necessity and healthcare concerns.
- Apply appropriate clinical judgment when reviewing patient information and identifying relevant medical documentation.
- Assist with determining whether documentation supports healthcare services, orders, or medical necessity requirements.
- Review patient charts, diagnoses, treatment plans, physician orders, and supporting clinical records.
- Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent documentation and coordinate follow-up as needed.
- Receive and manage inbound calls regarding issues related to the medical business.
- Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, home health agencies, pharmacies, and other healthcare personnel.
- Document calls, concerns, actions taken, and follow-up requirements accurately.
- Assist the healthcare team with administrative and clinical-support tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and healthcare privacy requirements.
Qualifications
- College graduate required.
- BSN Graduate, Registered Nurse, PHRN, or Paramedical graduate preferred.
- Candidates with clinical, hospital, healthcare, or medical-office experience are strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic clinical concepts.
- Ability to review medical records and understand clinical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Confident and professional when speaking with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and navigate multiple software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fast learner with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work in a BPO/healthcare operations setting.
- Willing to work a graveyard shift, including holidays.
- Must be dependable, adaptable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
