Job Title: Clinical Coordinator

Location: Remote, Philippines

About the Job

We’re currently seeking an experienced Clinical Coordinator to join our amazing team. This person will be assigned full-time to a New York based client that currently serves post-acute patients to ensure they have the appropriate durable medical equipment at home for a successful and complete recovery.

The position includes coordination of care, including interpreting and validating physician orders for medical equipment and expertise in ICD-10 and CPT code interpretations. The clinical coordinator will regularly communicate with physicians to clarify or correct orders and with suppliers and patients to confirm availability and delivery of prescribed equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret and validate provider prescriptions for durable medical equipment
  • Use clinical expertise and knowledge of ICD-10 codes to interpret modifications to equipment needs, as required
  • Become a SME on prescribing and billing practices and insurer requirements for durable medical equipment (Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial Insurance Plans)
  • Communicate with providers for required changes to prescription
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure availability of equipment
  • Become a subject matter expert on client’s service offering to effectively explain products and services to patients and business partners
  • Ensure each prospective and current client/patient has a positive experience
  • Field incoming communications (phone, email, text)
  • Respond to all provider and patient inquiries within 24 hours
  • Ability to prioritize patient needs based on medical urgency
  • Develop and distribute end of day productivity reports
  • Able to handle a variety of tasks independently and simultaneously
  • Demonstrate a pleasant disposition with each client/patient interaction
  • Stay highly organized and manage voice and email inboxes effectively
  • Work collaboratively on a team
  • Stay flexible and supportive, helping out wherever needed, even if its not in the defined job description
  • Comfortable with ‘gray area’ and ability to make the best judgment with whatever information is available.
  • Complete required call sheets at the end of each day
  • Take initiative to learn about the company and grow within the role

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate
  • HIPAA Certification
  • 1-3 year experience in USA healthcare industry required
  • 1-3 years outbound and inbound healthcare sales and service call experience
  • Skilled in CPT and ICD-10 Codes
  • Experience with DME company preferred
  • Experience with Medicaid preferred
  • Experience with home care medical supplies and prior authorizations preferred
  • Exhibit excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Expert use of Google Workspace
  • Experience working in Electronic Health Records
  • Experience using Slack and other business administration tools
  • Ability to work at least 8 hours each day, 5 days per week, Eastern Standard Time
  • A positive attitude
  • A pleasant speaking voice when engaging with prospects and customers
  • Experience and willingness, working in a team environment
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong work ethic and work from home reliability
