Shift Nurse

Job Summary

The Shift Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care and medical assistance to employees, contractors, and other authorized personnel within the mine site. The position ensures the timely delivery of emergency and occupational health services, promotes workplace health and safety, and supports the continuous operation of the Company's medical and occupational health programs.

The Shift Nurse is expected to provide immediate medical attention during emergencies, conduct initial assessment and appropriate nursing interventions, maintain accurate medical records, and coordinate with physicians, emergency responders, and other healthcare providers when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide competent and timely nursing care to employees, contractors, and other authorized personnel requiring medical attention.
  • Conduct initial assessment and triage of patients and determine appropriate medical interventions.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, accidents, and work-related injuries within the mine site.
  • Administer first aid, emergency nursing interventions, medications, and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Monitor and document patients' vital signs, medical conditions, treatment, and progress.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during consultations, examinations, medical procedures, and emergency interventions.
  • Facilitate the stabilization and transfer of patients requiring higher-level medical care to appropriate healthcare facilities.
  • Coordinate with emergency response teams, ambulance personnel, and external medical facilities during patient referrals and emergency cases.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential medical records and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of medicines, medical supplies, emergency equipment, and other necessary healthcare resources.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory of medicines and medical supplies.
  • Conduct regular inspection and monitoring of emergency medical equipment and report any deficiencies or maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation of occupational health programs and other Company medical initiatives.
  • Support medical surveillance, health monitoring, and other occupational health activities as assigned.
  • Provide health education and promote awareness of proper health and wellness practices among employees.
  • Participate in workplace health and safety activities, including medical coverage during Company events, trainings, and other activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee medical information and comply with applicable privacy and healthcare requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required medical and nursing reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper sanitation within the medical facility and assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Medical Department or Management.

Emergency and Occupational Health Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate nursing response during workplace accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies.
  • Assess the condition of injured or ill personnel and provide appropriate first aid and emergency care within the scope of practice.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities of the Company.
  • Assist in the management of occupational injuries and illnesses and coordinate with the Company's occupational health team.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of work-related injuries and medical incidents.
  • Participate in medical emergency drills and other preparedness activities.
  • Provide medical assistance during underground and surface mining operations when required.

Integrated Management System (IMS) Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Company's Quality, Environment, Safety, and Health policies.
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Comply with established medical, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Promote health and safety awareness among employees and contractors.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, hazards, and other concerns in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation in compliance with applicable Company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PRC license.
  • Preferably with relevant experience in occupational health, emergency nursing, industrial nursing, or hospital-based nursing.
  • Experience in a mining, industrial, construction, or remote-site environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in first aid, emergency response, basic life support (BLS), and other relevant emergency medical procedures.
  • Good clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively with employees, contractors, physicians, emergency responders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willing to work on a shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operations.
  • Willing to work in an underground mining and remote-site environment when operationally required.
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing duties in a mining environment.
