Full job description

Petit Psychiatry are looking for a reliable, organized, and patient-focused Virtual Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in a medical or healthcare setting and is comfortable handling administrative tasks, patient communication, scheduling, and electronic medical records in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and reminders.
  • Answer and respond to patient calls, messages, and inquiries professionally.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) (Experience in Charm HR is a plus).
  • Assist with patient intake, documentation, and follow-ups.
  • Verify patient information and insurance details when required.
  • Coordinate referrals, prescriptions, and medical records as directed.
  • Perform administrative and clerical tasks to support the healthcare team.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and other healthcare staff.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA/privacy requirements.
  • Complete other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience as a Medical Assistant, Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, or similar healthcare role.
  • Experience in a mental health or medical setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable using computers, EMR/EHR systems, email, and communication platforms.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-oriented.

Work Schedule:
  • 20–40 hours per week.
  • Availability to work evenings (EST), weekends, and holidays as needed.
