Health Advocate – ManoHealth Project

About the Position
Phil-Am Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. (“Phil-Am”) is an outsourcing services provider that employs professionals in the Philippines and assigns them to support the operations of its clients and client projects.

Phil-Am is seeking a Health Advocate to join our team and be assigned to a project supporting ManoHealth, a healthcare services company focused on helping U.S.-based Filipinos support the healthcare needs of their family members in the Philippines.

This position is employed by Phil-Am Outsourcing Solutions, Inc. The successful candidate will not be an employee of ManoHealth. As part of the project assignment, however, the Health Advocate will work closely with the ManoHealth team, its clients, healthcare providers, and other partners and will represent the ManoHealth service in day-to-day client interactions.

About the ManoHealth Project

ManoHealth was created to address critical challenges faced by families supporting healthcare across borders.

U.S.-based family members often experience stress about whether the support they provide is helping their loved ones as intended, whether family expectations are being met, and whether they have the time and resources to provide the level of assistance they would like. At the same time, family members in the Philippines may skip or delay healthcare because of cost, difficulty navigating the healthcare system, or concerns that accessing care will be confusing or burdensome.

ManoHealth's mission is to provide U.S.-based Filipinos with a transparent, financially smart, and stress-free way to support family health in the Philippines while helping their loved ones gain better access to care.

The ManoHealth service connects families with certified nurses, doctors, and a dedicated Health Advocate through a monthly plan sponsored by the U.S.-based family member.

Your Role on the ManoHealth Project

As a Phil-Am Health Advocate assigned to the ManoHealth project, you will work directly with ManoHealth clients—primarily the family member in the Philippines (“PH Member”)—while also helping keep the U.S.-based family member (“FilAm Member”) informed about their loved one's care.

This is a client-facing healthcare coordination and advocacy role combining virtual support with occasional in-person responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include:

Client Onboarding

  • Welcome and onboard clients to ManoHealth services, including during the in-person Initial MD Visit.
  • Explain ManoHealth services and benefits clearly and accurately.
  • Answer client questions and help PH Members and FilAm Members understand how to access available services.

Quarterly Nurse Wellness Visits

  • Proactively coordinate the scheduling of quarterly in-home nurse wellness visits with PH Members and third-party healthcare providers.
  • Ensure visit summaries and notes received from third-party providers are properly shared through the ManoHealth portal and/or email so they are accessible to the FilAm Member and PH Member.
  • Coordinate with the FilAm Member before and after wellness visits and assist with questions or follow-up needs.

Healthcare Provider Research & Appointment Coordination

  • Assist clients with researching healthcare professionals and facilities, including identifying appropriate specialties, locations, availability, and pricing.
  • Coordinate with healthcare facilities and providers to assist ManoHealth clients with appointment scheduling.
  • Help clients navigate administrative and logistical aspects of accessing healthcare services.

Client Service & Project Support

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, and chats from ManoHealth clients, providers, and other project stakeholders in a professional, compassionate, and courteous manner.
  • Build trusted relationships with PH Members and FilAm Members and provide responsive, high-quality client service.
  • Coordinate with external partners and third-party healthcare providers to support the delivery of ManoHealth services.
  • When required, accompany clients from their residence to scheduled healthcare appointments. This service will typically be provided by ManoHealth's medical partners, but the Health Advocate may occasionally be asked to assist based on client or project needs.
  • Address client concerns and service issues promptly and escalate complex or clinical matters to the appropriate person or provider when necessary.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with applicable data privacy, security, and project policies and procedures.
  • Document client interactions and maintain complete, accurate, and timely records in the designated client relationship management and other project systems.
  • Collaborate with relevant ManoHealth and Phil-Am teams, as applicable, including finance, product design, marketing, and technology, to help improve client service processes and the overall client experience.
  • Perform other reasonable project-related duties consistent with the Health Advocate role as assigned.

The Health Advocate is a coordination and client advocacy role and is not responsible for diagnosing medical conditions, prescribing treatment, or providing clinical advice unless separately qualified and expressly authorized to do so.

What We're Looking For

The ManoHealth project operates in a fast-moving start-up environment where the ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, solve problems, and work collaboratively is important. The Health Advocate will work closely with a positive, creative, collaborative, and learning-oriented project team while remaining part of the Phil-Am organization.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong learning and growth mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Trust and relationship management are central to the Health Advocate role.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English, Tagalog, and Bisaya.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare or a healthcare-related field in the Philippines.
  • A four-year degree in a healthcare or healthcare-adjacent field, such as nursing, healthcare administration, public health, medical technology, or pharmacy; or a four-year degree in another field combined with relevant healthcare work experience.
  • A strong understanding of the Philippine healthcare environment and experience interacting with healthcare providers, facilities, patients, or clients.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively with a remote team operating across different time zones.
  • An innovative and creative approach to problem-solving and a willingness to adapt when processes or circumstances change.
  • A curious, lifelong-learning mindset.
  • Comfort working in a start-up environment where processes and responsibilities may evolve as the service grows.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple clients, providers, appointments, and follow-up activities.
  • Proficiency with computers and experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, or similar business applications.
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically when required by the project.
