We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Virtual Medical Transcription Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent grammar and editing skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment. This role involves reviewing and editing transcribed medical reports for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, proofread, and edit AI transcribed medical documents for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
- Ensure medical reports are consistent with physician dictations and comply with client specifications and HIPAA regulations.
- Verify correct usage of medical terminology, abbreviations, medications, and procedures.
- Identify and correct errors in transcription, including missing information, misinterpretations, and formatting issues.
- Provide feedback to client to improve quality and consistency.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient health information (PHI).
- Meet established productivity and turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
- Stay up to date with current medical terminology, procedures, and documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist or transcription editor (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Excellent grammar, punctuation, and editing skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and transcription software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable computer, secure internet connection, and headset for remote work.
- HIPAA compliance knowledge required.
