Full job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder to support our healthcare team remotely. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) and a strong understanding of medical coding, clinical documentation, and U.S. healthcare billing practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring coding accuracy in accordance with established guidelines and payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical records and clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
  • Use eClinicalWorks (eCW) to review patient charts, update coding information, and support billing workflows.
  • Verify that diagnoses and procedures are properly documented and coded.
  • Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent documentation and coordinate with the appropriate healthcare staff for clarification.
  • Assist with claims preparation, billing reviews, and coding-related inquiries.
  • Support insurance claim audits and resolve coding discrepancies when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Stay updated on applicable medical coding guidelines and U.S. healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Coder in a healthcare setting.
  • Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with U.S. medical billing, insurance claims, and reimbursement processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to review clinical documentation and identify coding discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Graduate of any 4-year course, preferably medical allied health, but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or an equivalent medical coding certification.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based healthcare providers or medical practices.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims processing, denial management, and revenue cycle management.
  • Experience with outpatient or physician-based medical coding.

Pay: Php40,000.00 - Php50,000.00 per month
