About the role

A Laundry Maintenance Engineer (or Commercial/Industrial Laundry Technician) ensures the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of heavy-duty commercial laundry equipment in facilities like hotels, hospitals, industrial laundries, and production plants.

Key responsibilities

• Installation & Commissioning: Handle site setup, electrical/plumbing connections, testing, and final commissioning of high-capacity washer-extractors, tunnel washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and folding machines.
• Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Execute scheduled preventive maintenance contracts to inspect wear, lubricate moving parts, and replace components before breakdowns occur.
• Breakdown & Corrective Repairs: Respond swiftly to emergency mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and steam/heating system failures to minimize facility downtime.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex PLC control systems, high-voltage circuits (e.g., 480V), steam circuits, water heating, and high-pressure pumps using schematics and multimeters.
• Parts & Documentation Management: Identify required spare parts using technical manuals, track work orders in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and log service history.
• Staff Training & Safety Compliance: Train facility or housekeeping staff on basic machine operation, follow OSHA/safety protocols, and handle high-voltage or gas-fired equipment safely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• At least three (3) years experience in the same capacity
• Strong leadership and guest relation skills
• Strong analytical and planning skills;
• Excellent problem-solving skills;
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial laundry equipment, and machinery.
• Proficiency in budgeting, inventory control, and financial reporting
• Can start immediately
