Job Description:

The staff midwife works as part of the professional and medical team that includes doctors and other healthcare workers. Provides basic care to all newborns and supports mothers together with their babies, partners, and relatives in relation to breastfeeding and immediate newborn care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides emotional support and guidance before, during, and after labor.
  • Assesses the progress of labor.
  • Carries out the written order of the physician.
  • Provides life-saving measures during obstetrical emergencies.
  • Manages normal deliveries.
  • Conducts health education to the patient and family.
  • Documents and records the care done to the patient.
  • Performs other duties from time to time as prescribed by the proper authority.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid PRC license (Registered Midwife)
  • Must have a Certificate of Training on BEmONC (not required for those who finished the four (4) year Midwifery Course)
  • Willing to work on a shifting schedule
  • Willing to work for a project-based (3-month contract)
  • Can start immediately
