POSITION OVERVIEW

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing front-desk assistance to guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests upon arrival and make them feel welcome.
  • Administering check-ins and check-outs based on hotel policies, facilities, and activities.
  • Handle gift certificates or vouchers, cancellations, bookings, charges for hotel and restaurant services, late check-out fees, etc.
  • Upsell rooms and promote other services of the hotel.
  • Process guest payments.
  • Coordinate with bell service, whenever necessary.
  • Follow security protocols in safeguarding the cash fund.
  • Provide information about hotel services, room rates and availability, guest registration, travel directions, landmarks, tourist spots, and other related information.
  • Record in the endorsement logbook everything of importance that must be relayed from one shift to another. Reads logbook and event orders daily.
  • Aware of the daily activities and meetings that are taking place in the hotel.
  • Perform clerical work such as orderly filing, maintenance of forms, updating boards, and others.
  • Prepare shift reports.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the reservations.
  • Accommodate general and unique requests.
  • Diffuse conflict or tense situations with guests.
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or any related course.
  • With Customer Service NCII or Front Office Services NCII

EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENT

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar capacity
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Keenness to details
  • With excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to be calm, composed, and accurate even under pressure
