STORE NAME: MAKANAI (FUDO, Inc.)
PURPOSE: Ensuring the overall success of the food service operation by assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to food safety regulations, and collaborating with the team to deliver excellent guest experiences. The Kitchen Staff is dedicated to supporting the culinary team and upholding the standards of the establishment, ensuring that every dish meets the expected quality and presentation before it reaches the guest.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients, chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and following recipes to ensure that dishes meet quality standards.

2. Cooking: Cooking food to the desired levels of doneness and presentation, ensuring that all dishes meet the required standards.

3. Safety and Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by following health and safety regulations, including proper food handling techniques and sanitation practices.

4. Inventory Management: Keeping track of food supplies, managing stock levels, and assisting with ordering new supplies as needed to avoid shortages.

5. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that kitchen equipment is clean, in good working order, and reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

6. Team Collaboration: Working effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service and assisting in training new employees.

7. Menu Development: Contributing ideas for new dishes or seasonal items, often collaborating with chefs and management on menu planning.

8. Customer Engagement: Occasional interaction with customers, particularly in open kitchens or during events, to answer questions about the food and promote menu items.

9. Performs any other given tasks by the management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, or any food & service industry related courses

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a full-service restaurant, café, or retail F&B

environment preferred.

SKILLS: Detail-oriented

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Patient, honest, and trustworthy

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredient preparation, and food presentation.

Familiarity with kitchen equipment and ability to keep it clean and in good working order.

Quick thinking to address any issues that arise during food preparation or service.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Ability to prioritize tasks, especially during busy service times.

Friendly and personable

SUPERVISION: Standard; attention to detail required.
