Gaja Kitchen Stories Inc. is building a beloved Japanese restaurant known for its authentic flavors and warm atmosphere, and is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Cashier and Servers to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for handling transactions but will also provide exceptional customer service that reflects our commitment to creating a welcoming dining experience. If you have a pleasing personality and a passion for great service, we want to meet you!

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in Hotels, Fine Dining, and/or Japanese Restaurants (at least 2 yrs)
  • With pleasing personality, good communications skills, and confidence when talking and explaining to customers
  • Must be willing to attend face-to-face initial interview and face-to-face final interview
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic math skills and experience handling cash or credit transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Cashier:

  • Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor as they enter the restaurant.
  • Accurately take and process customer orders in person and over the phone.
  • Manage cash register operations, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and balancing the till at the end of shifts.
  • Provide menu information to customers, answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and dietary options.
  • Ensure a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the cash register and seating area.

As a Server:

  • Welcome guests with a smile, fostering a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and make recommendations based on guests' preferences.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all items are delivered promptly.
  • Monitor tables throughout the dining experience to ensure guest satisfaction and promptly address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and fellow team members to provide exceptional service and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in resetting tables and preparing for new guests between dining experiences.
