Full job description
DESCRIPTION:
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Half Saints
- Prepare and serve cold and hot beverages consistent with the restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
- Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make changes if necessary.
- Clean, maintain and sterilize glasses, utensils, espresso machine and other bar equipment.
- Balance cash receipts.
- Record food and drink orders accurately and immediately after having received them into the register system.
- Stock bar with coffee and other related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
- Present food and drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
- Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
- Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
- Reset tables in the espresso/cocktail bar area.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
- Recognize and learn the names of regular guests.
- Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
- Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service, and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Take food or beverages orders from guests.
- Serve food or beverages to guests
- Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
- Stock service areas with supplies such as tableware and napkins.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
- Perform cleaning duties.
- Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees when needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations

- Can stay calm and focused in stressful and busy situations
- Can work under minimal supervision
