Full job description

Hedge Edu English Writing, Inc. is hiring home-based online English tutors residing in the Philippines.

Role

  • Teach English writing to Korean students through one-on-one online guidance and correction.
  • Communicate with assigned students through KakaoTalk.
  • Support students consistently and responsibly.
  • Work a fixed regular schedule; this is not a booking-based tutoring role.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Philippine Time (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Korea Time). Morning availability is an advantage.

Tutor Options

  • Regular Tutor: available for at least 70% of the main hours and eligible for promotion and manager positions.
  • Temporary Tutor: available for less than 70% of the main hours, using the same teaching-rate system, but not eligible for manager promotion while temporary.

Compensation

Starting rate: PHP 150 per completed teaching hour.

Level rates: L1 PHP 150; L2 PHP 156; L3 PHP 162; L4 PHP 168; L5 PHP 174; Petite Manager PHP 180; Manager PHP 186; Senior Manager PHP 192; Head Manager PHP 240 plus monthly bonus.

Manager monthly bonuses: Petite PHP 2,000; Manager PHP 4,000; Senior PHP 8,000; Head PHP 16,000.

Performance reviews are normally held every three months based on attendance, responsibility, teaching quality, student care, and communication.

Qualifications

  • College graduate or undergraduate.
  • Online or classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching Korean students is an advantage.
  • Clear pronunciation and a neutral accent.
  • Responsible, caring, and student-focused.
  • Familiar with Zoom and able to commit to a fixed schedule.

Technical Requirements

  • Laptop or desktop with Intel Core i3, AMD equivalent, or higher.
  • At least 8 GB RAM.
  • Wired internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
  • Noise-canceling headset and Full HD camera.
  • Backup internet and power supply preferred.
